Review: Birchbox UK July 2018

Hi Everyone

I received my July Birchbox yesterday and theme of this month’s box is ‘Say Yes to Adventure‘.

Although the box design is still cute this month just not as excited as normal as the tin storage box was so impressive last month.

Birchbox is a monthly subscription box which costs £12.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month and 3, 6 & 12 monthly subscriptions are also available.  Usually five personalised beauty treats are included each month.

This month every box contains a Full Size Mannakadar Beauty Long Wear Powder, subscribers were / are able to choose either Paradise or Trifecta  (I chose Paradise), a product  / beauty information booklet and the following four products:

MannaKadar Long Wear Powder – ‘Paradise’ Full Size RRP £15  this is a beautiful rosey pink shade,  with a hint of glimmer.  Does apply well with good pigmentation and although I prefer a matt blusher it does look lovely on, natural looking and shimmer not too noticeable as long as you do not apply too much.  Only used it for a day so cannot really say how long-lasting it really is but when I try for a longer period of time, if  impressed will post a separate review .

Lipcote & Co Browcote Waterproof Brow Gel- (Full Size)  RRP £6.99  – another full size item which is great.  However I am not a fan as this product has a strong smell which I dislike.  I still have tried it once and although does hold brows well I know I am ‘wearing’ it which I do not like either and as the fragrance is just too much for me unfortunately will not be reusing.

What’s in it for me…? Shower Scrub (Sample size 50ml) Full Size is 200ml RRP £7I had never heard of this brand before but do love body scrubs so happy to see this included. The almond oil helps the light granules to glide on your skin and then once you rinse it off it leaves your skin feeling so smooth, hydrated and lightly fragranced.    Although only used once, so impressed with initial results may go on and purchase full size as quite reasonably priced at £7 for 200ml.

If you subscribe during July you will get a FREE Lord & Berry highlighter stick (worth £15) with your first Birchbox, while stocks last.  You just need to use the code GLOWING at checkout.

Or just in case you prefer money off your box (do not think you can use both) you can get £5 off your first box – (box is normally £10 +£2.95 shipping – you will get for £5 +£2.95 shipping) by clicking  link here and then copy and paste code at checkout to get your discount.    Thank you in advance if you use this link.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you have received this month’s box would love to know what you thought, did you receive the same products as me in your box?

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.  Will have more posts up before the end of the week.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Thank you & take care.

Best Wishes Liz x

    Hi Liz,

I do like the box and love the blusher but otherwise it’s just okay, pleasant but not inspiring I have the full size body blur and find it really hard and patchy to apply. I don’t know if something is wrong with my product or it really is difficult to work with.

I would be really interested to hear your experience with it.

    Love from Susie xx

Thank you Susie, I understand what you mean especially if you are not a huge fan of the other items.

I am after posting my thoughts on the body blur – my friend had similar problem as her skin was a bit drier than mine so I advised to make sure hydrated and only apply small amounts at a time, mix a little bit of moisturiser, not too much with the body blur to help it massage / blend in easier and she has found this has helped.

Look forward to hearing if this helps you too.

Take care and hope you have a lovely weekend.

      Chat soon.

Ooh I like the look of the eyeshadow stick for next month.
I’ve recently switched to the Latest in Beauty box and after 2 months I haven’t looked back. I love how most products are full size and you can pick everything yourself, its definitely my favourite beauty box.

      Hi Jodie

Thank you – I love the Latest In Beauty box as well, only reason I cancelled for a while is that I have a lot of products to use up. However when I do see products I want to try I will subscribe again.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and chat soon.
