YOU Beauty Box – October 2016 Review

I received my October 2016 YOU beauty box  selection yesterday   – I  again stayed with the standard subscription this month – £6.95 (including p&p) for two items plus the extras. (please see my previous post here for overview and how to subscribe  and the October shortlist / selection of products post here). I  selected / received the following two products  and extras:

Foreo Day Cleanser (100ml) – FULL SIZE (In Box) = worth £25

States on the information booklet ‘bursting with fruit extracts – it instantly refreshes the skin as it cleanses while the yogurt probiotics moisturise and protect it against daily external aggressions.  The skin is left soft healthy and radiant’.

This is a beautiful creamy peach coloured cleanser and feels so soft on the skin – the fragrance is amazing – it must be the Bergamot, which is described as bringing radiance and refreshes – delighted I selected this product and cannot wait to use it properly – can be used by itself and with a LUNA cleansing device which I am also delighted with, as I received a mini LUNA cleansing device in another beauty box and have not used it yet – so will do a separate review on both when I get a chance to try  them both properly.

(unfortunately this item not available anymore as currently sold out – that is why I always recommend making your selection as soon after 7am on the 1st of each month if you can as some items can sell out v quickly – thought this might be one of those items as it is worth £25!)

Aromatherapy Associates Revive Body Gel (200ml) – FULL SIZE = worth £35

my second choice

States on the information booklet ‘experience the refreshing and invigorating powers of grapefruit, rosemary and juniper to even out skin tome and texture to maintain a healthy micro circulation – massage into your skin each day focusing on areas of concern.

Comes in a tube, has a gel consistency and a spa aroma, definitely a ‘Revive’ citrus fragrance and although looking forward to trying, the fragrance is pretty strong so not sure if this would put me off purchasing in the future even if I enjoyed using this product – but I will let you know on a separate review when I get a chance to try.

Plus the extras included in this month’s box were two 7th Heaven masques, glove/hand and sock/foot masques and a http://www.everdine.co.uk £25 Off your first box card.

Over the moon with this months box, even though no makeup items,  really looking forward to trying both the products which are both full size items and together worth £60 (some online sites you may get them cheaper) and with the inclusion of the two masques where can you get better value at the moment and all for £6.95.

Therefore as always I would definitely recommend trying the YOU beauty box if you can because of the value of products / cost of box – subscriptions start at £6.95, especially if you never have subscribed received a beauty box before as at this price, one of the cheapest around at the moment, it is definitely worth getting, if you can.   However as always, please remember if you are interested in specific products you need to make your choice as early as possible as some products may sell out quickly (as has happened this month already).

If you are already subscribed would love to know what you thought of the selection of products this month and also love to know if you are considering subscribing.

Also if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – enjoy the rest of the weekend and take care.

Box of Style-The ZOE Report-‘Fall 2016’

I received my ‘Fall 2016’ Box of Style end of last week.  The  Zoe Report Box of Style is a US seasonal box (4 boxes per year) which costs $100 per box  and contains a variety of items (could be clothing, accessories, skincare, jewellery, makeup etc.).  The contents of each seasonal box  are different and contain around six items, one of which is a high value ‘hero’ item – could be item of clothing, jewellery, a bag etc.  International shipping is  available to the UK  for a flat rate of  $15 per box / shipment.  (full details on subscription(s) / shipping can be found at http://boxofstyle.thezoereport.com/

  • The ‘Hero’ Item – A gorgeous Donni Charm Colour Block Wonder Cape in Black and White  = $197 – This is a beautiful soft cosy versatile piece – love it is in black and white, two of my favourite colours, I think it will suit everyone, is ageless and timeless, you could wear it over jeans and jumper, over a dress or even wrap around your neck as a cosy scarf, also can be worn with the wrap belt, cannot wait to wear it;

  • A beautiful  B-Low The Belt Gatsby Black Leather Wrap Belt = $105 – another beautiful piece, can be worn around the cape, double wrap in around the waist on a dress, jacket and also can be worn through belt loops on your trousers, skirt or jeans as tassle finish give it that extra detail;

  • IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil = $24 – over the moon that two items from IT Cosmetics were included as this is a brand I have  wanted to try but never got round to it till now – (however QVC UK have recently started stocking IT Cosmetics and I am now waiting on the makeup compact to arrive – will do a review on it too when I get a chance to try it) – Love the pencil on one side and brush on the other, tried it once and initial thoughts are that it filled in brows very well (dragged slightly when I first used it but improved after further usage) and brush great for tidying up the brows too – states is universal and when you lean heavier it does give a darker colour – looking forward to trying properly;
  • IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain = $24 – I received the colour ‘Wine Berry Flush’ – which is a dark berry colour (maybe a variety of colours included in boxes as shows three different colours on the information card)- feels beautiful on the lips feels very hydrating, felt a v, v light tingling, left lips looking natural but healthier and colour did last  really well, another item I want to try properly;

    img_1707

  • Hollywood Fashion Secrets Lint Removing Sheets = $6 great addition perfect to carry in your handbag when you need to remove and fluff, fallout;
  • A Stunning Rachel Zoe Goldtone Tassle Bracelet = $95 – this is a beautiful stunning bracelet which comes in a black drawstring bag, it is from the Rachel Zoe collection, length is adjustable and I am over the moon that it fits me as I have a smaller wrist and find it difficult at times to find bracelets that fit without any adjustments – detail is exquisite and love the tassle charm detail, perfect to wear for any occasion, you could also could wear it stacked with other bracelets – think this will be a bracelet I will be reaching for and wearing a lot.

Thank you – take care.

ORIGINS RITUALITEA FACE MASKS

14237681_10153860991607405_6140090748808201596_n

Origins have recently launched a new RitualiTea face and body mask range.  Although I have not yet got round to trying the body mask range yet I have been lucky enough to try two of the three face masks already, so wanted to let you know my initial thoughts.

There are three different types of Rituali Tea face masks, they come in a tin, cost £30 each for 45g and have a powder formula  which when mixed with water should become a creamy consistency (the body masks cost £25 each and come in tubes).

Currently you can try a sample / samples of these masks by asking the sales assistant at any Origins Counter about the masks and after a skincare consultation you should receive at least one sample sachet free to try while stocks last (you may also receive a sample of tea) – I have inserted link to the  OriginsUK Facebook page here for reference – recent post dated 29.09.16 – copy of post below:

There are three Rituali Tea face masks as follows:

Ritualiteas Matcha Madness (Silver & Green Tin) – described as a revitalising powder face mask – initial smell reminds you of a spa which is very pleasant / relaxing – you need to mix the powder with water – depending on how thick a paste you want you can add a little more water if you prefer a smoother consistency and once you mix the powder / water together it starts to foam slightly and the fragrance changes to an earthy smell not as enticing, although not unpleasant just not what you are expecting or want with a mask – you can purchase the accessories for the masks as well if you want – a measuring spoon and mixing / tool duo £15 and a dark grey hard plastic bowl to mix the mask in £15 (think this is v pricey for what it is and unless you like coordinating items I personally do not feel you need it), I personally will not be purchasing either in the future as have plenty of bowls and measuring / mixing tools.  The mask is a bit messy to apply and remove, contains slight ‘bits’ once mixed with water and does dry slightly on the skin although I did notice a slight difference to my skin after one use, my skin looked more  refreshed with a slight glow and felt smooth to the touch – definitely will think about purchasing this in the future but not at the moment as have so many masks to use up and the price, fragrance and application not as appealing as other masks I currently use although still a good mask;

Ritualitea Oolongla (Silver & Brown Tin) – described as a purifying powder face mask with oolong black tea & chai spice – I have not got round to trying this one yet but initial smell reminds me of a slight autumnal / winter fragrance;

Ritualitea Feeling Rosy (Silver & Red Tin)- described as a comforting powder face mask – has an initial slight rose fragrance but when mixed with water the smell is more natural/earthy and to me smells slightly like breakfast cereal, maybe only me, although still has a v, v, slight rose undertone too.  I applied as before and I loved the feeling of my skin afterwards, it felt smooth, soft to the touch, my skin appeared clearer and refreshed so again will definitely think about purchasing in the future.

I definitely enjoyed trying these masks and was happy with results – however only things that put me off slightly is the preparation / fragrance and price as the results are not any better than my current masks which  majority of, are cheaper, smell better and are easier to apply and remove.  However I would still definitely recommend trying if you have not already  especially as currently you should be able to get a free sample / samples to try while stocks last – always remember if purchasing full size items to shop around online and in-store to get best value at that time, including discount codes, free gifts etc.

I hope you found this useful – remember sample(s) availability will be while stocks last, so the quicker you can get into a participating store the more chance samples will still be available.

Thank you for looking  and look forward to any comments you may have – if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend.

POWDER x Marc Jacobs Beauty Box

Just in home and as my ‘Powder x Marc Jacobs Beauty’ box arrived today I wanted to post a quick review to let you know about it as it is only available while stocks last.  It costs £40  (free p&p) but is worth £90.

With the recent launch of Marc Jacobs beauty in the UK, thisispowder.co.uk  thought it was the perfect time to join forces with Marc Jacobs beauty to bring us this beautiful limited edition box.   It is a Beauty drawer box which contains 5 Marc Jacob Hero products and four of these are full size items and one a deluxe travel size.   Shades will be matched to your profile (you complete your profile when you sign up to thisispowder.co.uk  – no subscriptions necessary).

The beautiful black drawer style box contained a high quality information booklet and the following beautifully boxed items:

Hi Shine Nail lacquer in 120  – 13 ml – full sizeI received the shade 120 Delphine in my box – beautiful dark taupe / smokey purple colour- there is another shade available (Blacquer – black shade) so you will receive whichever matches your profile best – love, love the bottle so sleek and stylist – cannot wait to try;

Hi Shine Lip Lacquer – 5.oml – full sizeI received the shade 02 Allow Me which is a beautiful pinky nude colour – again love the packaging and the colour but has a sight sticky consistency and a slight sparkle – however still looking forward to using it – there is another shade available Pink Flamingo (think I would have preferred to have received this shade), again you will receive whichever shade that matches your profile best;

Magic Marc’er Precision Black Pen Eyeliner 10 Blacquer – 0.5 ml – full sizepackaging out of this world once again – so sleek and stylist and looks like a high quality calligraphy pen – beautiful solid black liquid liner and I have just swatched on my hand and it will not budge so  should be v long lasting – cannot wait to try as eyeliner is one of my desert island beauty products;

The High Life:  3 Piece Highliner Eye Crayon Set – 3 x 0.37g  – full size item but contains three deluxe size eye crayons – I received the Essential Hue’s set which contains sunset, blacquer and ro (cocoa) – gold, bronze and black shades – there is another set available Coveted Colors (purple, green), again you will receive whichever matches your profile best – love this set and they seem to have a creamy consistency so should be easy to apply – next on my list to try properly;

Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara in 10 Noir – 5.0g – deluxe travel size – great travel size – have not opened it yet as have so many mascaras to use up but I have high hopes for this too.

An information card was also included which contains samples of the Marc Jacobs full foundation concentrate is three shades – Bisque Light, Beige Medium and Honey Medium – states only requires a dot for full coverage, v intrigued so another product I am looking forward to using.

I am absolutely delighted with this box and cannot recommend highly enough, one of the best beauty boxes I have received.  I think this box would also make the perfect gift especially for anyone who is a beauty fan / Marc Jacobs fan or anyone who has always wanted to try his products, like myself.  I have no negative things to say about this box and the only slight change to the selection would  have been to have had a lipstick choice included instead of the lip gloss but this is just a personal thought and still looking forward to trying the lip gloss properly.  Remember though that difference shades are available in the nail lacquer, crayon set and lip gloss and you will receive shades based on your profile.

You can purchase the box / sign up to thisispowder.co.uk via the link here while stocks last.

I hope you found this useful and if you have ordered / received this box would love to know if you are as delighted with it as me and what is your favourite item?

Thank you – take care.

Best Wishes Liz x

BENEFIT Deluxe Sample Selection-Boots

Wanted to let you of another great way to try Benefit Cosmetics products at the moment without having to purchase the full size item is through purchasing deluxe size samples £5 per item or purchase 4 items for £20 and you get a zipped Benefit makeup bag for free.  I was able to redeem advantage card points I had built up so got all my items for ‘free’.

I cannot see this offer currently available online however should be available in larger Boots stores – if you cannot see this offer ask a Benefit Cosmetics Sales Assistant about it.

There are a number of items to choose from but I chose the following four products (all came in boxes so perfect as small gifts too):

B.Right Triple Performing Facial Emulsion for all Skin Types – SPF 15 – 8.9 ml  – beautiful bottle although maybe not that practical, but I will refill it and keep as a decorative item  – has a lovely light fragrance and creamy consistency – cannot wait to try this properly, will post a review once I have;

Benefit Dandelion Ultra Plush Lipgloss – 6.5 ml – comes in a tube and has a sweet fragrance and has a lovely non sticky sheen finish, perfect by itself or over a lipstick – will think about purchasing full size item or maybe this size again as will take a while to use this size up;

Eyes It’s Potent Brightening Eye Cream – 3.0g – also comes in a matching glass container which you could refill when empty – beautiful non sticky consistency – I have used this product before and enjoyed using it so was happy to choose another deluxe size sample to use  – it leaves your eyes hydrated and brightened and although I found it did not really help to fade my dark circles it did help disguise them slightly so would still recommend trying it as it is a beautiful product;

Boi-ing 02 1.4g – Eye Bright 1.2g Duo – this is a concealer and eye brightening duo which comes in a beautiful compact with built-in mirror – I would have preferred the concealer in shade 01 but this sample only available in 02 in my store (not sure if available in other shades in other stores though) – however still can work with this shade and I find it is great for under the eye area or to help disguise any slight blemishes – also I find the creamy eye brighter is great to use in the inner / outer corner of the eyes – gives that instant illuminating brightening effect.  Love this duo as perfect handbag size and will last ages so when I need to repurchase will purchase this size again instead of the full size items (if still available);

and

I also received the Clear Benefit peach trimmed zipped makeup bag for free as I had purchased four items – good quality bag and perfect for travelling.

I would definitely recommend checking this offer out if you can while stocks last as great way to try Benefit products or to get deluxe travel size samples of your favourite items.  Also remember to use your Boots advantage card too or sign up for one if you have not already – no charge or catch just a great way to build up points for redeeming against items when you have enough built up.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

The Body Shop Superfood Masks Review

Wanted to let you know my thoughts on the Body Shop masks now that I have finally got round to trying them.

img_1145

I received my free Body Shop sample mask trio through  The Body Shop facebook page / Claim Free Face Mask offer – please see  link here to apply (still available to claim or send to a friend(s) while stocks last) – see my earlier post here for further details.

I applied masks evenly as per instructions, avoiding the eye and lip areas and rinsed off after 10 minutes – states leave for 5 to 10 minutes on packet:

The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask  – full size £15 for 75 ml – states contains Bamboo charcoal from the Himalayan foothills, Green tea leaves from Japan and Community Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya – light purifying type fragrance and when I first applied this mask I felt a slight cooling / tingling feeling but nothing major –  did not irritate my skin and found is perfect for when you want that deep cleanse, my pores appeared diminished and it left my skin smooth and with a healthy glow – messier to apply and remove  and has ‘bits’ in it however still love this mask and results although I found that this mask is definitely better for the T Zone area especially if you have combination skin as I personally found can leave other areas of your skin slightly dry – definitely will purchase when I use more of my masks up;

The British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask  – full size £15 for 75 ml – states contains real rose petals, and essence of hand-picked roses from Britain, Rosehip oil from Chile and Community trade organic aloe vera from Mexico –  this mask has a  rose fragrance though not overpowering –  left my skin smooth and soft to the touch hydrated with a dewy glow – could be used all over or just on chin cheeks -did not really notice any plumping results though – not sure about this mask for me though as prefer the other two – however would still recommend trying;

and last but not least

The Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask  – full size £15 for 75 ml – states contains Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, Community Trade marula oil from Namibia and Community Trade organic olive oil from Italy – this mask is beautiful – this may be my favourite of the three masks I have tried, even though I like all three – light honey fragrance – left my skin hydrated, soothed replenished and fine lines appeared reduced and skin felt softer, looked brighter and more rested – definitely left my skin v nourished as well – definitely going to purchase.

I would definitely recommend trying to get samples of these masks to try before purchasing to see which one you prefer or maybe all three – if the offer I got is not available just ask the sales assistant if they have even one sample you could try.  As always if you are considering purchasing please check in store and online for the best offers available prior to purchasing.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.
