Sosueme.ie Beauty / Fashion Masterclass – 25 June 2017 @ Galgorm Resort and Spa

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a great weekend, it goes past so quick and so hard to believe almost the end of June already.

DAvcrcPXgAIAirw

As part of my passion for beauty and fashion I love attending beauty and fashion events and when they include afternoon tea as well that is the perfect combination, not forgetting goodie bags, which I think we all love.   So when I saw Suzanne Jackson ( Sosueme.ie) was having another Masterclass in Northern Ireland on 25th June 2017 at the Galgorm Resort and Spa Hotel, Ballymena, Northern Ireland, could not resist and purchased tickets.

Suzanne Jackson  is one of Ireland’s leading fashion and beauty bloggers, if you have not heard of her before you can read more about her here.

Tickets for the event cost 75 Euro / £67.30 each and included the following:

  • To start Suzanne Jackson  give an overview of her background which included her work as a beautician, how she got started blogging, got to where is she today, a fantastic business woman.  She is beautiful and comes across very well, genuine, knowledgeable, a brilliant speaker and real people person, in my opinion she definitely was at the front of the queue when they give out those skills;
  • Contouring / makeup demo by Suzanne herself using her Contour and Highlight palette – I have both but have not tried them properly yet but when I do will post a separate review on them;
  • Very informative and useful skincare tips by skincare specialist Corinna Tolan (specifically talking about Environ Skincare which I am now intrigued about and want to research further);
  • Then there was a break for afternoon tea – it was so, so, yummy, food delicious, (sorry no photos as we all tucked into it so quickly as not individual plates / tiers, although not a problem at our table as we all shared equally), only slight negative, but I had found this at most events, delay getting tea or coffee, I understand because of the large crowd difficult to make sure all served on a timely basis but if hotels could work on improving this element it would be great; however definitely would recommend treating yourself to afternoon tea at the Galgorm if you can, as so tasty and beautiful surroundings;
  • Makeup demo by local makeup artist LMD, Louise Mc Donnell (further details here) – she is so talented and witty;
  • Haircare demo by Imelda Maguire using her weave hairpieces, a great alternative to hair extensions, a number of colours available, check her site here for more details;
  • Airbrush makeup demo by Fiona from FMN Makeup and Hair – for when you want that  natural long wear look, perfect for weddings or even that special night out;
  • Short fashion show featuring high street brands, followed by prize draw and award of gorgeous prizes.

As you can see it was a day packed with demos, informative talks,  it was obvious a lot of thought had went into  the day,  v well planned by Suzanne Jackson and all her team / family and definitely worth the ticket price.  I  would highly recommend attending any  future Sosueme.ie events  if you can, as they are very well run, informative as well as being very professional.     Suzanne and her team do an excellent job, real family affair and all very approachable which makes it that bit more special.

Now onto the goodies we got (so, so impressed with the goodie bag and love that there a number of new brands, products for me to try), which if you are like me is what you also look forward to seeing:

Firstly on the table was An Avoca gift bag for each person containing a beautiful Avoca No7 Wild Meadow fragranced soap (40g) and a Maria Lucia Bakes Granola.

The goodie bag itself – (was at an earlier Sosueme.ie event and the goodie bag there was good one but this one is even better, included photo of the other goodie bag underneath as well to see what you think).

  • SOSU Nail Polish Remover Lemon & Lime 150ml;
  • SOSU Pro Blender & Complexion Sponge;
  • Human and Kind Wash Off Facial Cleanser 100ml with Deep Cleansing Cloth (will do a separate post on this soon);
  • Powder ‘n’ Pout – The Bullet P325;
  • Primark Lip Laquer in Pink (different products included in goodie bags);
  • Wet n Wild Kohl Eyeliner in Baby’s Got Black;
  • Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss in Berried Treasure;
  • Suu Balm Fast Itch Relieving Moisturising Cream 15ml;
  • Flomar Colour Stretch Eyeshadow in Future White 5g;
  • Good 4U Super Seed Snack with Cranberry & Apricot 25g;
  • Urban Veda Purifying Complete Discovery Set, which came in a beautiful drawstring pouch and contained the following items; Purifying Body Lotion, Body Wash Body Scrub all 50ml, Facial Wash & Polish 20ml each and Day Cream 10ml – what a great way to try this range will also do a separate post when I get the chance to try properly; and lastly
  • 2 vouchers for the The Spa at Galgorm; £20 off treatments and day spa packages and £10 Gift Voucher – cannot wait to use as well.

Goodie Bag below which I got at a Sosueme.ie event in Dublin, held earlier this year:

Hope you enjoyed reading about the event and seeing what was in the goodie bags – welcome any comments and love to know if you would like to read about any future events I attend as well.

If you are not a follower would love you to subscribe / follow my blog too would mean a lot.

Thank you

Rodial Free Lip Product With Any 3 Sale Items

Hi Everyone

As you know I love great offers so when I seen the reductions / free gift offer (below) currently available at Rodial online I had to do a quick post to let you know about them.

17_06_09_PRODUCT_LISTING_PAGE_PROMOTIONAL_BANNER___606_x_970_suede_lips.jpg

Currently Rodial are giving a complimentary / free suede lips in ‘Rodeo Drive’ (worth £22) when you purchase any 3 sale items (no offer code required, automatically added when you add 3 sale items to your basket).   I have tried a number of skin care items / makeup items from Rodial in the past, although mostly have been offers, free gifts (recently got lip / eye duo worth £36 free with July edition of Red Magazine – please see my magazine freebie post here for details).   I have enjoyed using / found all the Rodial products I have tried to date good, although yet to  find that ‘hero’ product from their range but still plenty more products to try.

I could not resist this offer myself especially when I seen the foundation and highlight brushes were both reduced to £5 each (photos below – never tried any of their brushes before and states worth £40 each!  I have checked quickly online and found the foundation brush is currently priced at £26.78 on one site).  I also love the Glamstick 5 piece lip set,  (worth £110, now reduced to £40 – photo below), perfect for separating as gifts as well.  However these are only a few of the products reduced and the rest of the sale items are also worth checking out.  You should also get two free sample sachets as well at checkout.

As always I also checked if cashback available at Topcashback.co.uk and found currently they are offering up to 15% cashback on purchase(s) which is fantastic – please see my link here for  more detail  and if you have not signed up for cashback yet would really appreciate if you used my link to sign up and you will also get a free £5 Debenhams e-gift card this way as well (when you reach a minimum cashback threshold of £10 cashback).

I hope you found this useful.    Would love to know if you are already a Rodial fan or if you have bought or decided to purchase anything from the sale.

Thank you – take care and hope you all have a good week.

Feelunique Pick & Mix Service / Samples – June 2017

Hello Everyone

I received my  Feelunique’s Pick ‘N’ Mix  selection below during the week.   As advised before you can pick five ‘free’ samples from a selection of samples  available while stocks last (one selection of samples per month) – you are charged £3.95 for shipping and handling fees although you can redeem this against any future order  (excluding Pick ‘n’ Mix) via a £3.95 gift voucher you receive in your follow-up email.

It was approximately 6 weeks from my last selection as did not get finalising my choice quickly enough so had missed out on a number of samples I had wanted to try but still happy with the samples I got below (but as always would love more makeup samples to choose from) :

img_4210

img_4216

img_4211

  • Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm (5g jar) – I have used this product before and think it is quite good, enjoy using it but just not my favourite cleansing balm-  However love it is a jar sample so  perfect to take with you if going away for a night or two;
  • Omorovicza Rejuvenating Night Cream (5ml jar) – really looking forward to trying this cream, lovely creamy texture with a light fragrance, a good size sample and in a jar as well;
  • Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Youth Regenerating Cream (3g sachet) – the only sachet sample I selected this month – love trying all Kiehl’s products and as this is one I have never tried yet, decided to get it;
  • Isadora Multi Vitamin Gloss in 37 ‘Fruit Cocktail’ (2ml) – multi vitamin antioxidant lip gloss – feels comfortable on the lips and perfect size for the handbag – (other choices still available at the moment);
  • Bioderma Creme Reparatrice Apaisante (5ml tube) – never tried this before either but as it states it is a soothing repairing cream, thought it was a perfect product to try as also states, restores relieves and purifies.

Happy with my selection this month, maybe not my favourite to date but will definitely continue to use the Pick ‘N’ Mix as and when I see samples I want to try or already love. Remember the more generous sample sizes / make up samples  go quickly but as long as you regularly look through the sample choice you should always see something you want to try.   I also love that the service is not tied to a subscription.

I highly recommend trying it for yourself as a great way to try products for ‘free’ prior to purchasing especially if you make a future purchase through Feelunique to enable you to redeem your £3.95 gift voucher(the charge for shipping & handling fees) (if new to Feelunique you can use my code here to get £10 off your first order with a £30 minimum spend).

Look forward to any comments you may have – would love to hear if you have used the Pick ‘N’ Mix service already, what you thought of it?

If not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

Glossybox UK – May 2017

Hi Everyone

img_2201

I received my May Glossybox last week.   Although I  have not got a chance yet to try all the products properly, just wanted to let you know my first impressions.  Glossybox is a  monthly beauty subscription box which costs £10.00 (plus p&p) per month and 3, 6 & 12 monthly subscriptions are also available.

img_2202

Scrub Love Active Charcoal Body Scrub Full Size £13.95 – (love body scrubs though have so many already to use up – but this one states that it is the scrubbiest body scrub of them all!  Think it will be a little messy but will give it try soon and if I think it is any good will post a separate review on it);

Ruby Powder Blush in Coral (2.5g) Full Size 14.99 Euro –  although packaging is quite flimsy, the blush is silky, pigmented and think the colour is definitely wearable when blended out, so looking forward to using properly);

ModelLauncher Brow Duo Pencil in Taupe Full Size  £10.50 – (never heard of this brand before but when I first opened it, thought it might be the ideal brow product as has a slanted pencil, perfect shape for application   – however I found it very hard to get the pencil started, have to lean quite heavily on it and even then it is quite patchy – will try another few times and if improves with usage will post a separate review);

img_3800

Although the box is good value this month and will use all the products (with maybe the exception of the eye brow pencil, if application does not improve), was not overly excited with any of the products this month.  However excited about the sneak peek product for June (below).

*SPOILER* June Sneak Peek – states that you won’t want to hide behind sunglasses when this fresh and energising lifting gel by 111Skin does everything you could wish for and more – not sure what size will be included but 111Skin is a high end brand and have been wanting to try more of their products, so perfect timing.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you have received this month’s box would love to know what you thought.

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – hope you all have a good week – take care.

Living Proof – Full Thickening Mousse

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a good weekend, doesn’t it just fly past, though not long now to the Easter break.

I was one of the lucky people earlier in the year to receive a FREE deluxe size sample (53g) of the Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse from SpaceNK (UK) – full size 142G RRP £23.    I was delighted to receive this as I had tried a number of Living Proof products before and enjoyed using them, not only for the results but also because I love their fragrance.

Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse is described as body boosting, naturally moving and long-lasting.

img_3411

You are advised to:  to dispense an egg-sized amount to damp hair from roots to ends, comb through and heat style.

As I was a bit apprehensive the first time I used it, I only applied half the recommended amount, but every time since then I have used the recommended amount, with better results.  You need to make sure you shake the can really well before dispensing to ensure a good ‘mousse’ consistency and then apply evenly from roots to ends before combing / brushing through and heat styling.  I was v pleasantly surprised when I  dried my hair as my hair still felt soft, looked natural and had a lot more bounce / volume, also loved it has the same long-lasting fragrance as all the Living Proof products I have tried to date.

Definitely the best hair mousse product I have used to date as majority I had used prior to this one left my hair feeling hard / crispy and very ‘set’ looking.  The only slight negatives I found is that it took slightly longer to dry my hair  and when I brushed my hair after blow drying it, areas of my hair were a left a bit more tangled.  However once I finished styling I found no problem with brushing my hair afterwards and hair style does definitely seem to ‘hold’ / last longer .

I enjoyed using this product and would consider purchasing in the future, however not at the minute as I have a number of hair products to use up.   However  I would still recommend checking out this and other products from the Living Proof ‘full’ range especially if you have v fine hair and would like more body / volume on a daily basis but still want that natural look.

If you are thinking about purchasing  this or anything from the Living Proof range remember to always check around first to get the best value.  You can purchase from a number of stores and I have included two below for information but unable to find any with a free gift with purchase at the moment (have managed to get a free gift with purchase at Marks and Spencer in the past):

SpaceNK£23 – no specific offers but a choice of 3 samples at checkout (when stock available) and % cashback if you go through cashback first; and

Marks and Spencers£23 – % cashback if you go through cashback first – there also is a travel set for £29 which contains travel sizes of the mousse, full shampoo, conditioner and root lifting spray – great way to try all this range.

Love to know if you have tried this or any of the Living Proof products before.  If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Hope you all have a good week.

Thank you – take care.

Best Wishes Liz x
