Review: Ría Organics Restorative Eye Cream & Energising Day Cream

Hi Everyone

A few months ago I  v kindly received both the Energising Day Cream  and Restorative Eye Cream  from  Nicola at Ría Organics to try.    Now that I finally have had a chance to try them both properly wanted to let you know my thoughts.

A bit about Ría Organics

Nicola Shevlin, a nurse with specialized training in skin healing and renewal, saw first-hand how people were becoming increasingly mindful about what they put on their skin. Passionate about seeking organic alternatives, she began formulating her own organic skincare range in 2013.    With the support of her brothers Richard King, who has a strong background in chemistry, and Andrew King, a horticulturist, Ría Organics was officially launched in 2017 at Bloom in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, Ireland.    A true family collaboration, their surname is instilled in the name Ría Organics; ‘Rí’ being a Gaelic word meaning King.

Stated:  ‘use the purest and most powerful organic ingredients’ and ‘each of their creams are vegan, made in Ireland, cruelty-free and packed with organic ingredients that moisturise, replenish and firm to reveal pure, natural beauty’.

Energising Day Cream  (Full Size 50ml RRP 40 Euro) – comes in  a glass jar with matt gold screw on lid – lettering is not embossed on glass but on a label.    The packaging is practical but also feels luxurious as well – would be a lovely addition if in the future a small ‘spatula’ was included as would help keep the product more hygienic.

States:  Enhances your complexion by providing cellular support, brightens and restores.      This day cream absorbs rapidly and encourages your skin to maintain its optimum moisture level throughout the day.  It leaves your complexion balanced and beautiful—enhancing your natural radiance.

Application and Results

It has a thick cream consistency again with a spa type fragrance.  You need very little product and although cream feels slightly tacky when first applied, after a few minutes cream is completely absorbed and although skin definitely feels hydrated,  it does not look like you have applied cream, perfect base for applying foundation.  As I have combination skin, I also feel this cream helps balance my shiny t-zone as well as keeping my skin hydrated.  Although I do not think my skin looks more radiant / brighter after using it, as it helps keeps my skin hydrated, balanced throughout the day and is the perfect base I would definitely purchase.

Restorative Eye Cream (Full Size 12.5ml RRP 34 Euro)  – same beautiful packaging as the face cream, just a smaller jar.

States:  hydrates and energises the delicate eye contour while targeting fine lines and wrinkles, brightens, refreshes and replenishes and supports your skins natural protections.   Powerful combination of actives and organic oils, such as avocado, apricot kernel and argan.  Helping  to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles and puffy eyes, leaving your fragile eye area looking brighter and younger.

Application and Results

It has a thick cream consistency and as always with eye creams you only need a small amount rubbed between your ring fingers prior to patting / massaging round the eye contour area.  Although it does sink quite quickly, there is a slight tacky  & tightening feeling after applying but I find this does ease after a period of time.  I feel this is more a product for patting lightly around the eye contour area as it does not really ‘massage’ that well.   Initially around my eyes did look brighter and fine lines did appear to be diminished slightly however with prolonged use i.e. 4 weeks and more I did feel around my eye area did appear less puffy, dark circles and fine lines did not seem as noticeable, (they were still there but just not as noticeable, no eye cream is going to work miracles).  My eye area also appears brighter as long as I have enough sleep.

However as I find I need to apply an eye cream during the day with using my computer so much for work this is not an eye cream I would use for that, it does not feel hydrating enough, does not give that instant boost that around my eyes need.  Although not my overall favourite eye cream as it does not feel as comfortable as other eye creams I have tried I would still consider purchasing because of the results.

In case you have not heard  of the Ría Organics range before – please see link here for further details, range of products available (3 at the moment, a night cream as well). Currently you can also get a Premium Gift Set on line which contains all 3 of the products for 99 euro while stocks last – perfect Christmas gift or great way to try the whole range.

Look forward to any comments you may have.   Have you tried anything from the Ría Organics range before?    If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care and enjoy the rest of the week.

Best Wishes Liz x
