GLOSSYBOX Review – September 2016

I received my September Glossybox during the week.  Glossybox is a  monthly beauty subscription box which costs £10.00 (plus p&p) per month and 3, 6 & 12 monthly subscriptions are also available.

Included in this months box is the usual product  / beauty information card  and the following five products – I will do separate reviews on each product once I get a chance to try them properly:

VITAMASQUES Hydro Face Mask (one mask)–  Full Size– £7.99– (love face masks though have so many already to use up – however this one states keeps skin hydrated for 120 hours – hoping so! );

RODIAL Smokey Eye Pen – Full Size =£17– (v happy this product was included as love black eyeliners, one of my daily staples – looking forward to trying this product properly as first impressions are that it is a good strong colour and easily blended, just not sure at this stage about durability);

L’OCCITANE Immortelle Precious Cleansing Foam  – 50 ml (travel size) Full Size 150ml £19 – (states its organic essential oils leaves skin clean and soft – looking forward to trying this product especially as part two of a double cleanse – a good travel size);

I am v pleased with this months selection, think my favourite box for 2016, three full size items, good selection of products, brands.  I am really looking forward to trying all of these products especially the mascara, face mask and Revlon topcoat, but you know me by now, still hoping more makeup items will be included in next months box.

*SPOILER* October Sneak Peek – states is an innovative formula from Universal Beauty Cosmetics that will leave your cheeks and lips glowing with a subtle flush of healthy colour – (looks like it may even be a full size item).

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you have received this months box would love to know what you thought.

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

BIRCHBOX Review – September 2016

I received my September Birchbox during the week  – it is a monthly subscription box which costs £12.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month and 3, 6 & 12 monthly subscriptions are also available.  Five personalised beauty treats are included each month and this month’s box theme is ‘Heroes’  – a drawer style box this month but no drawstring bag – hope we receive the bag again next month.

This month every subscriber either received a Model Co Crème Rouge for lips and cheeks or a Highlighting Trio – both full size items, the usual product  / beauty information booklet,  four additional products  based on your profile   I received the following:

MODEL CO Highlighting Trip in Champagne, Peach Bellini & Bronze  – Full Size £17.00 – I am looking forward to trying this properly as described as being suitable for cheekbones, brow bones and eyelids – gives an instant glow – preferred this item as I had received the crème rouge before;

POLAAR The Genuine Lapland Cream 25ml (travel size)– Full size £15.00 for 50ml‘handy’ handbag size – described a cult favourite with their French team an antioxidant rich lotion which is brimming with a trio of vitamin packed berries to nourish protect and pamper dry skin and can be applied to face and body whenever your skin’s feeling parched – it is a thick cream consistency but when you apply it has more a balm consistency- leaves skin hydrated with a  v slight sheen and is great for any dry patches as well – looking forward to trying this product for a longer period and think will be perfect for the Winter time as well.

I also received a gold tone bangle worth £15 this month for referring a friend, it has a peach string tie closure at back and it came in a lovely cream birchbox pouch  – love this bangle and the one I received has the word IMAGINE inscribed on the front and if you subscribe this month using my referral code www.birchbox.co.uk/invite you will also receive one of these bangles with your first box – (However please remember this may be sent separately).

Although not overly impressed with some of the products this month  – still  v good value this month and do love the Polaar Lapland  cream already and my box does have a good mix of makeup, skincare and haircare products which I am happy to receive although in future boxes as always I am hoping I will receive more makeup up items.

Any queries / comments please let me know and if you would like a separate review on any of the above products just let me know.  If you received this months box would love to know what items you received.

Thank you – take care and have a lovely weekend.

Kat Von D-‘London Calling’ Ltd. Ed. Set

I am sure a  lot of people are happy that the  Kat Von D makeup range is now finally available to purchase in the UK – collection launched exclusively in Debenhams today 13th September 2016.  A Limited Edition 3 piece set ‘London Calling’ was available to purchase pre-launch for £19.50 (still available to purchase  here while stocks last).  As I had heard so much about the Kat Von D makeup range thought this was the perfect way to try some of her products.

My order arrived last week and now that I have had a chance to try all the products I wanted to let you know what I thought.

This limited edition 3 piece ‘London Calling’ make up set came beautifully packaged in a box and contained a mini ‘Studded Kiss’ lipstick in ‘Lolita’, ‘Everlasting’ mini liquid lipstick in ‘Double Dare’ and a mini ‘Tattoo’ liner in ‘Trooper’ – described as Kat’s favourites.

The Mini Studded kiss lipstick in ‘Lolita’ – 1.2g;

Love, love, the studded detail black sleek packaging with KVD embossed on lid –  a deluxe travel size, perfect size for your purse and the colour is divine – it is a matt dark pink / nude shade and is long lasting – though a matt shade I found that as long as your lips are prepared does not dry out your lips the way some matt lip products can – perfect for anytime but will be beautiful for Autumn time as well;

Mini ‘Everlasting’ liquid lipstick in ‘Double Dare’ – 3.0ml

Another great travel size, creamy and also long lasting and is the perfect companion for the lipstick, looks gorgeous worn over it too – also has a lovely pattern detail on the cap – beautiful dark pink / nude colour with a slight sheen, perfect for any time but especially for that night out – love this product too;

Mini Waterproof Tattoo liner in ‘Trooper’ – 0.2ml

Another perfect travel size – as black eyeliner is one of my daily essentials was more than happy to see this included and had also seen great reviews about this product – it is a strong black colour and long lasting and great when you want a precise fine line or to line the top lash – however I found the brush is a bit too fine for applying the liner under my eye although it is perfect on top of another eyeliner – although would still highly recommend because of the quality and durability.

 I am so pleased I purchased this set and would even consider purchasing another (however have seen that Love Me Beauty have the same individual items currently available to choose while stocks last (lip products different colours), when you subscribe to their monthly box – please see details of it here – you should also get 21 extra credits when you use my code LIZ5042 at checkout)  – definitely intend to look at what other lip colours are available  and will definitely purchase more from this range once I get a chance to use up the ‘new’ products I already have.

I would definitely recommend purchasing this Limited Edition set while it is still available as this is a great way to try a few of the products from the range prior to purchasing full size items.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

Feelunique ‘Haul’- Fleur de Force Products Review

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I received my most recent order from Feelunique late last week  – The main reasons for placing my order was to reorder one of my ‘hero’ products, the  Antipodes Divine Face Oil  – please see my earlier review on it here, and also to redeem my £3.95 gift voucher – I had paid £3.95 for shipping & handing for my  Pick ‘N’ Mix order which I then received back in the form of a gift voucher – to see details on the service and what I received in my Pick ‘N’ Mix order, please see my previous post here.

As I was placing an order anyway I decided to purchase some items from the Fleur de Force range (so glad I did) as I had never got round to trying any of her products (although had purchased a few of her sets as gifts last year) and also because I seen they were on sale with an additional 10% off sale items at the time I purchased.

I purchased the following items:

The Fleur De Force Eyeshadow Quad in Lunar Rose (020) – Feelunique exclusive

An absolutely beautiful quad and the eye shadows are so pigmented,  high quality and very long lasting especially with eye primer- the palette I received contains a beautiful light rose / taupe pink colour, matt base colour, cream / v light pink pearl colour and a dark mauve almost brown colour with shimmer – definitely recommend purchasing this palette.  Love the Fleur de Force signature on the front too – just adds that finishing touch.  Definitely thinking of purchasing the 010 Cosmic Bronze palette as well even at the full price, as still very reasonable for the quality of the shadows.  However as always I will search for the best offer available at the time as there are always regular discount codes  available.

£6.99 – reduced to £2.40 – however now see back up to the full price of £6.99;

and three of her Feelunique exclusive lip glosses in the following colours:

£6.12 for 9.5 ml – all back to full price again too.

020 – Written in the Stars – reduced to £2.80

Stunning dark pink / nude colour – just perfect for everyday

030 – Starlight – reduced to £2.10

A lighter pink / peachy colour

050 – Starry Starry Night – reduced to £2.10

Gorgeous wine / berry colour – also suitable to wear anytime but especially for the evening / night out.

Oh my goodness – cannot believe the quality of these lip glosses, a cross between a lipstick and a lip gloss  very long lasting and although slightly sticky when you apply not tacky and colour ‘payout’ is exactly what you see in the tube  – also have a beautiful light vanilla fragrance – although not overpowering.  Definitely recommend trying these if you have not already.  I am just slightly annoyed with myself that I am so late trying the Fleur de Force makeup range as so, so, impressed with the quality of items I received and definitely recommend trying if you haven’t already

I also received cashback on my order – for details on how to receive cashback please see my previous post here, you can also use my link here to sign up if you want;  and the following free samples as well, an Emma Hardie Amazing Face Age Support Face Cream 5 ml sample sachet and a Feelunique makeup set which contained a blending sponge and a brush set – so v happy.

I hope you found this useful and remember to always check best offers available before purchasing and go through the  topcashback site first to claim any cashback available when purchasing.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

YOU Beauty Box -Sept 2016 Review

image

I received my September 2016 YOU beauty box  selection last week   – I  again stayed with the standard subscription this month – £6.95 (including p&p) for two items plus the extras. (please see my previous post here for overview and how to subscribe  and the September shortlist / selection of products  post here). I  selected / received the following two products (as the Inika lip tints were not available even though included in shortlist – but more about this later) and extras:

Argan 5 Argan Oil Anti Age Hand & Nail Cream (75ml)

States on the information booklet ‘is easily absorbed and works to give intense and instant hydration, even out skintone and protect against UV damage’.

This creamy product sinks into skin v quickly, hands feel smooth, hydrated and I absolutely love the smell – the mixture of different oils give off a gorgeous relaxing fragrance, cannot stop smelling my hands when I use it.

Model Co Lip gloss in Fairy Floss  (this was a substitute product not in shortlist)

FULL SIZE= £16.00 – however on ‘sale’ on a number of online sites.

Nothing in booklet as substitute product – I like the packaging with built in mirror and it has a lovely sweet fragrance – is v slightly tacky but does give a lovely sheen to the lips.

Plus the extras included in this month’s box were sachet samples of the The Hero Project Glow Drops and Nanoblur Cream, a packet of Propercorn and a £10 Voucher Code for Zalando.

Although still excellent value again this month, I was disappointed as I know  a lot of other subscribers were as although the earlier preview / shortlist showed the two Inika lip tints below,  neither of these were available to choose when this month’s box became available.

That is why I made the selection I did as was not really interested with any of the remaining items although I am glad I selected the handcream as I love it already.  I contacted YOU beauty box through their facebook page early on the 1st September 2016 (as did a number of other members)  to ask what the problem was and why the Inika products were not available to choose and why members had not been informed and they  replied as follows ‘Thank you for your comments and we appreciate your disappointment. Unfortunately there was a problem with the Inika stock so we could not put it live’.  I appreciate their response but I believe they could have avoided a number of members being disappointed if they had kept them informed because I believe good prompt communication is key in any venture / business.   Hopefully this is just a one off glitch, as up to now have been v impressed with this subscription service and have been subscribed since the beginning.

Therefore I would still definitely recommend trying the YOU beauty box if you can because of the value of products / cost of box – subscriptions start at £6.95.   However as always, please remember if you are interested in specific products you need to make your choice early as some products may sell out quickly.

If you are already subscribed would love to know what you thought of the selection of products this month and also love to know if you are considering subscribing.

Also if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

LIBBIE BOX – September 2016

I received my *September Libbie Box  late last week.  For details on the  Libbie Box  and  the August 2016 box please see my previous reviews here and here.    The September Libbie Box  contained the following three full size items (worth over £61.40 – prices of products may vary online so could work out cheaper), additional sachet samples this month and product information card:

Dr DENNIS GROSS Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Peel Pads– £15 for a  day supply

I had heard of the brand but had never tried this product – Described as a patented two-step formula which is easy and safe to use at home, without requiring recovery time. Step 1 is packed with rejuvenating, powerful yet gentle, exfoliating acids, and step 2 controls the alpha hydroxy acid activity and delivers anti-aging actives, nourishing skin, keeping it balanced, smooth, and radiant – perfectly prepped for a more effective skincare routine. Expect your complexion to appear smoother, with fewer fine lines, a more even tone and texture, and smaller-looking pores. Contains a combination of seven acids, for accelerated results.  Although slightly apprehensive loved the product claims. Found the pads very easy to use and when used correctly as a 2 step plan I found my skin appeared more radiant and smoother and also fine lines and open pores appeared reduced, no adverse reaction either – definitely will be repurchasing and highly recommend.

PAUL YACOMINE Micro Duo 2 X 25ML– £16.50 – worth £24

This is a brand I had tried before but not this particular duo as these are exclusive to The  Libbie Club  –  This Micro Duo oils are described as a unique take on haircare,  which help repair locks damaged over the summer to give you a glossy new mane for autumn.   I used these products as directed and found they did not weigh my hair down or leave it greasy – left my hair silky soft and the finishing oil left my hair with a beautiful shine as well – highly recommend.

Although I had tried other products from the Evolve range had never tried this serumDescribed as clear serum for normal to dry skin containing 200mg hyaluronic acid per bottle, proven to hydrate skin from within and plump up fine lines and wrinkles. Organic pomegranate extract softens and protects. This serum although slightly sticky when applied sinks in quickly with no sticky residue, left my skin smooth and hydrated although I did not notice a plumping affect, however will continue to use to see if even better results are achieved with more usage.  No overpowering fragrance either only a v light rose scent – not sure if I will be repurchasing at this stage.

Welcome any queries or comments.  Also if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care

*Products received free for review.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box – Sept 2016

I was surprised last week when my September 2016 Lookfantastic beauty box arrived, (it is a monthly subscription box which costs £15 per month (inc p&p) or from £11.25 for a 12 month subscription), as had decided to cancel my subscription for a while – see my review of last months box here – however when I checked Lookfantastic had taken this months payment even though I cancelled in time not to be invoiced for this months box – have emailed and I am still waiting for a response – intend to follow up this week.

img_1293

This is LFBeautybox’s 2nd birthday so Lookfantastic stated they have included everything you need to get yourself glammed up and ready to celebrate with them.

img_1294

 Included is the usual product  / beauty information booklet and the following six products (photos below) – however no Elle Magazine included with this months box:

img_1297

Bliss Lemon & Sage Body Butter – 30ml (travel size) – £22 for 200ml;

Gatineau Smoothing Eye Pads (1 sachet containing 2 pads)£36 for 6 sachets;

Argan Multi Tone BB Cream – 10ml – (travel size) = £70 for 30 ml;

BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready – 1.5g – (travel size) – £17 for full size; and

A Lord & Berry Strobing / Luminizer Pencil – 0.7g (travel size) – Different one than is included in magazine but card included to explain with a 20% discount code LB20 which can be used off Lord & Berry products.

However still would have expected a bit more as this is their birthday box, could have included a full size item, also disappointed that a copy of the September 2016 Elle magazine was not included and that I still have not received a response from Lookfantastic.    Even though I  am more impressed with this months box – still going to cancel as just too many beauty boxes at the moment and this one does not excite me as much as the others I am currently subscribed too – however will consider subscribing again in the future and still would recommend you checking it out as still v good value for money and also if you prefer receiving more skincare than makeup items.
Love any comments you may have and what you thought of this month’s box and which beauty boxes you love reading reviews on.

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.

My Little Box ‘Mademoiselle’ – Sept 2016

I received my September  My Little Box today – it is one of my favourite monthly subscription boxes  – it is a Parisian based monthly subscription box which costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month.    Each month My Little Box has a different theme and the box is always beautifully illustrated in line with that theme.  This month My Little Box teamed up with French clothing brand Claudie Pierlot to help create their chic Parisian ‘Mademoiselle’ themed box.  I love the different box design this month, it has a flap front opening with a My Little Box ribbon closure.

As always this month’s box contained the usual high quality glossy booklet,  additional product information cards, the My  Little Box cloth drawstring bag, (which contains the three to four beauty / skincare products usually three – one of which is a My Little Box item), two accessory items (only one this month but love it anyway) and a beautiful card.  Included in this months box are:

  • A Gorgeous Claudie Pierlot Navy with red detail wallet – worth £30 – this is one of the reasons I love this box because of the accessories that are included as well as the beauty items of course – this wallet is so stylist and chic with a secure snap closure – zipped pocket on back and card slots inside- also comes in a high quality gift box / packaging – love this wallet – when you use the code MYLITTLEBOX you can  also get 30% off the Claudie Pierlot range online at http://www.claudiepierlot.com from 01.10 – 15.10.16
  • Erborian Korean Skin Therapy Ginseng Shot Face Sheet Mask – 15 g – £6 – looking forward to using this as have tried the tinted moisturiser in this range before and liked it, not my favourite but still ok and this mask is described as helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, give a firmer feel, enhance the complexion’s radiance and smooth the skin – a lot of claims but even if it delivered some of these results I would be happy – will do a short review when I get a chance to try it;

  • Essie Nail Polish ‘288’– 13.5 ml – full size  although have so many nail polishes at the moment still happy to receive this one, as the quality of Essie nail polishes are usually good and this is a black glitter polish – have none exactly the same as this in my collection;

  • My Little Beauty Mademoiselle Volume Black Mascara – full size – £14 – (love the packaging – have not opened it yet as already have so many mascaras opened but will do a short review when I try it).
  • No extras this month.

I am v happy with the contents of this months box , even though only one accessory item I am happy as love it,  I will also use everything.   I also love the different box design this month too.     I would definitely recommend subscribing to this box as it gives you something slightly different / contains a variety of items and as always  a lovely surprise each month.

In addition if you use the promotional code MYLITTLECLAUDIE you will receive £3.95 off your first box (October 2016 edition), with every new subscription – offer valid until 5th October 2016.

Any queries / comments please let me know and if you would like a separate review on any of the above products just let me know.  Also if you received this months box would love to know what you thought, what were your favourite items this month?

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – take care.
