Living Proof – Full Thickening Mousse

Hope you all had a good weekend, doesn’t it just fly past, though not long now to the Easter break.

I was one of the lucky people earlier in the year to receive a FREE deluxe size sample (53g) of the Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse from SpaceNK (UK) – full size 142G RRP £23.    I was delighted to receive this as I had tried a number of Living Proof products before and enjoyed using them, not only for the results but also because I love their fragrance.

Living Proof Full Thickening Mousse is described as body boosting, naturally moving and long-lasting.

You are advised to:  to dispense an egg-sized amount to damp hair from roots to ends, comb through and heat style.

As I was a bit apprehensive the first time I used it, I only applied half the recommended amount, but every time since then I have used the recommended amount, with better results.  You need to make sure you shake the can really well before dispensing to ensure a good ‘mousse’ consistency and then apply evenly from roots to ends before combing / brushing through and heat styling.  I was v pleasantly surprised when I  dried my hair as my hair still felt soft, looked natural and had a lot more bounce / volume, also loved it has the same long-lasting fragrance as all the Living Proof products I have tried to date.

Definitely the best hair mousse product I have used to date as majority I had used prior to this one left my hair feeling hard / crispy and very ‘set’ looking.  The only slight negatives I found is that it took slightly longer to dry my hair  and when I brushed my hair after blow drying it, areas of my hair were a left a bit more tangled.  However once I finished styling I found no problem with brushing my hair afterwards and hair style does definitely seem to ‘hold’ / last longer .

I enjoyed using this product and would consider purchasing in the future, however not at the minute as I have a number of hair products to use up.   However  I would still recommend checking out this and other products from the Living Proof ‘full’ range especially if you have v fine hair and would like more body / volume on a daily basis but still want that natural look.

If you are thinking about purchasing  this or anything from the Living Proof range remember to always check around first to get the best value.  You can purchase from a number of stores and I have included two below for information but unable to find any with a free gift with purchase at the moment (have managed to get a free gift with purchase at Marks and Spencer in the past):

Lookfantastic Beauty Box – April 2017

I received my April 2017 Lookfantastic beauty box yesterday, I had cancelled for a while but then got a 3 month subscription and as this is my first box, will receive another two boxes (monthly subscription box which costs £15 per month (inc p&p) or from £11.25 for a 12 month subscription), you can also see the review of one of my earlier boxes here.


This month’s theme is ‘Natural Beauty’ and  Lookfantastic advise that ‘barefaced and beautiful is the way to go this April, letting your natural beauty shine through using a combination of good skincare and lightweight makeup to get your complexion glowing’.

Included is the usual product  / beauty information booklet and the following seven products (photos below)  and a copy of the April 2017 edition of the Elle Magazine:

Thisworks Perfect Legs Skin Miracle – 10ml (sample size)– £37.00 for 120ml;

States is ‘a tinted multi-vitamin serum to perfect and help cover skin imperfections’ – have heard about this product but have never tried and although states can be used all over the body, not sure if enough in this sample for this,  (Bit disappointed such a small size sample), however does not appear to take that much to cover the skin,  think enough for legs and arms – tested and does give a lovely sheen and has a refreshing spa fragrance which you expect with Thisworks products, not sure about ‘covering’ imperfections think it just ‘blurs’ them to make them less noticeable but this is my first thoughts so need to try properly to be sure;
 

Laura Geller Baked Balance N Brighten Foundation in Fair – 1.8g (deluxe travel size) – £26 for 9g;

 

Can be used alone or over your own foundation for a healthy glow – is a baked powder – I have tried it before and enjoyed using it, found it did give a healthy glow and has light / medium coverage as is buildable, was not drying on my skin either so happy to see this included in the box and perfect size for your handbag.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10 in 1 Complete Correction Leave in Hair Perfector – 25ml (deluxe travel size) – £26 for 74ml;

Love this product as already received the same size in another beauty box in the past and have just finished it, so perfect timing – you can apply to clean towel dried hair and style as desired or as a finisher on dry hair which I prefer it for and what I used it for mainly so that is why this size will last me a long time, has a lovely fragrance as well;

Omorovicza Cleansing Foam– 25ml– (travel size) – £44 for 150ml;

Looking forward to using as have tried other Omorovicza products and enjoyed using them and you can never have too many cleansers;
Madara Fine Line Minimising Cream (dry to very dry skin) – 20ml (deluxe travel size) – £35 for 50ml.

Have tried few products from this brand but never tried this one before;

Vitamasques Pomegranate Face Mask– (1 mask) – £3.99;

Never used this mask before, but love face masks and this one states is ‘moisturising, Firming and Lifting;

Merci Handy Hand Cleansing Gel in New Wave – 30ml– (full size) – £2.90;

This is a newest brand so that is why I think I have received this same item in a number of recent beauty boxes however all different fragrances to date – perfect handbag size and think this is the nicest fragrance I have received to date, fragrance does last as well.

Box of Style The Zoe Report – Spring 17

Delighted as received my ‘Spring 2017’ Box of Style yesterday.   For the Spring 2017 box, Rachel Zoe and her team focused on highlighting female founded brands.

As advised in my earlier post here,  The  Zoe Report Box of Style is a US seasonal box (4 boxes per year) which costs $100 per box  and contains a variety of items (could be clothing, accessories, skincare, jewellery, makeup etc.).  The contents of each seasonal box  are different and contain around six items, one of which is a high value ‘hero’ item – could be item of clothing, jewellery, a bag etc.  International shipping is  available to the UK  for a flat rate of  $15 per box / shipment.  (full details on subscription(s) / shipping can be found at http://boxofstyle.thezoereport.com/)

 

I avoided the majority of the spoilers online, only had seen what one of the items, so was excited to see what was inside,  as you receive all the items individually wrapped in tissue paper within the black magnetic closure box it prolongs the excitement / surprise element.

Included within the Spring 2017 box were the following items & information booklet (see photos below):
The ‘Hero’ Item – A Tribe Alive Custom Carryall = $238 – This was an exclusive collaboration with Tribe Alive (founded by Carly Burson) to utilize her passion for fashion as  a platform to help alleviate poverty among women around the world – states this partnership employed over 150 Indian artisans in three cities – love the black and white detailed design (two of my favourite colours so a bonus) with tan detail, straps – zipped top closure with an interior zipped pocket and two open pouch pockets, perfect size for work, shopping, holidays, beach etc – only one negative, may just be as I have a strong sense of smell, but there is a v strong smell of straps, tan detail, smells like rubber to me – hoping this will disappear once outside for a while as if not would definitely put me off personally from using it, which would be a shame;

Adornmonde Ivo Earrings in choice of either gold tone or silver tone= $62– difficult choice but I chose the gold option – for pierced ears, the bars can be worn alone and then add the hoop as you wish, as I love hoop earrings I probably will wear both together most of the time – love these earrings and know I will wear them a lot as perfect for any outfit; 

 

Red and Gold Symbology Handcrafted Scarf = $50 –this is another exclusive collaboration and this time with Symbology who was founded by Marissa Heyl.  The colour of this scarf is beautiful and although a shorter scarf can still be styled so many ways including loosely round the neck, tie on your handbag strap for a splash of colour;


Tatcha Polished Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder- $65 –never heard of this brand – states was founded by Victoria Tsai and inspired by Geisha beauty rituals and their mantra that less is more – really intrigued and looking forward to trying this.  Comes in a beautiful presentation box as well.  When I try it and if I am impressed, will post a separate review;

BKR Glass & Silicone Water Bottle= $35 – this is a great idea, refillable, has a sleek neutral but fashionable design, perfect for work or carrying with you wherever you are to help remind you to keep hydrated .

Butter London Nail Polish in ‘Piece of Cake’= $18 – pale pink colour and although I have similar colours, I have not got this one so perfect addition to the collection;

My Little ‘#NOFILTER’ Box – March 2017

Hi Again

I had to show you the March 2017 My Little Box which I received last week.   As advised before it is one of my favourite monthly subscription boxes which costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month, however My Little Box even surpassed my high expectations this month.    This month’s theme is ‘#NOFILTER’ and I adore the way the Gorgeous Bag  (usually a box), cards, packaging is all coordinated perfectly in line with this month’s theme.

 

As always this month’s box contained  product information cards, picture card  but missing the usual glossy My Little Box booklet and drawstring pouch (think a pouch is not included as there is a Zipped Bag this month instead of the outer box) – love the addition of a bag this month as although the themed boxes are very pretty I have so many boxes now I really do not need any more.   Included in this months box are:  



Dusky Pink Toilet / Cosmetic Zipped Bag – this is a gorgeous bag and delighted we received this instead of a box this month – not sure if it is only for this month but would love the addition of a bag on a regular basis;



‘Selfie’ Foundation Brush –love, love, this brush, comes in a box and it has a beautiful dusky pink handle with rose gold tone detail and the brush is so soft but also firm as well – it is good for foundation but it really is perfect for so much more i.e. applying bronzer, blusher, loose powders as well – so cute as well;



Rose Gold tone Smartphone ring – never heard much about these before, it is for ‘sticking’ onto the back of your phone, states can also be used as a mini tri-pod for taking portrait / landscape photos- always keep my smart phone in a full protective case but will definitely get round to trying it – once again love the colour of it:

Laura Mercier Blemish-less Foundation Primer- 15ml (travel size)– have used Laura Mercier primers before and they do a good job but as this a new version have not tried it yet so looking forward to trying;


Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Pressed Powder– 1g (travel size) – states blemishes are softened fine lines blurred and a texture so fine you almost forget you’re wearing any makeup up all – tried this before and it does help to keep your skin matte/ makeup  last longer and you really do not feel it on your skin – however not sure about blurring fine lines but still a good product and this a handy size for your makeup bag; 

 


My Little Beauty ‘Vernis Toute Nude’ Nail Polish– 10ml (full size)   – Beautiful neutral colour – brush perfect size,  leaves a lovely shine to your nails,  packaging also matches this month’s theme perfectly as well.


Extra included this month is a ‘Beauty Notes’ notebook  – love this addition, perfect size for my handbag.

As always I would  definitely recommend subscribing to this box as it is still one of my favourite subscription boxes.  I adore this month’s box, love everything about it; colour theme, brush is gorgeous, love all the makeup items and the addition of a bag just finished it off – perfect box this month for me.  Even if you not able to a get box every month I would recommend getting this month’s box for yourself as a treat or as a gift, as currently My Little Box  are giving up to 25% off your first box using the code FIRSTBOX and if you are a past subscriber and want to sign up again use the code WELCOMEBACK to get a free gift.

I had to let you know about a product which I finally got round to trying  from the Sarah Chapman London Skinesis range – the award winning Skinesis Overnight Facial serum-oil.

The Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial is described as a multi award-winning skin transforming, night-time elixir which recreates the lifting, firming, skin perfecting benefits of a Skinesis facial.  Awaken to plump, smooth, rejuvenated skin with a signature Skinesis glow.  Ideal for skins concerned with ageing, Overnight Facial also helps calm stressed skin and is deliciously naturally fragranced with a soothing pure essential oil blend of jasmine, frangipani, rose and tuberose.

Stated:  Suitable for all skin types and you are advised to smooth or massage all over face, neck and chest every evening / at night – This product is suitable to use every evening / night.

Results are described as:
Recreating the effects of a Skinesis facial, leaving skin plump, smooth and rejuvenated with the signature Skinesis glow. Lines and uneven textures are smoothed, skin is brighter, firmer and more radiant, giving instant results to flat, dull and unbalanced skin.

The product comes in  a beautiful  bronze hard plastic container with silvertone detail around it and white writing.  It has a pump applicator and push on cap and price ranges from £21 for 5ml – the package does look luxurious as well as being practical.

I had received the 5ml size (what I would call a deluxe sample size) in a free beauty goodie bag gift with purchase and just had never got round to trying, cannot believe I waited so long to try.

It has a non greasy light serum / oil type consistency and the first thing I noticed, loved was the aroma – it is hard to explain but to me it is has an uplifting, refreshing fragrance, not overpowering but when you apply it you feel you skin is being treated, pampered with a luxurious product.   I have tried a lot of skin care products over the last few years but this definitely has my favourite fragrance to date.  Now on to to the application and results, I used/use two pumps at night after cleansing  (sufficient for face neck and chest) and warm serum in my hands and then press, massage onto my face neck and chest.  It absorbs into the skin quickly, leaves your face hydrated but not greasy and in the morning when you wake up your skin does look rejuvenated even after little sleep, your skin looks energized, more radiant, skin feels soft, smooth to the touch and fine lines appear reduced.  I definitely noticed results after one application but with longer use the results seem even more enhanced.

There are a lot of products I enjoy using and have found good results with but I can definitely say this is the one product recently that has really surprised me with its impressive initial and ongoing results.

I definitely recommend trying this product not only for the results but also because it is so easy to fit into your normal routine.    However as always ask  for a sample to try first before purchasing if you have any stores near you who stock Sarah Chapman products, sometimes they may have samples or if not, if you have a small pot they will put some product in it for you from their tester, or they may have small pots they can use.  If you have time you could ask to try the product in store to see if you like the fragrance, how it feels on your skin.

You can purchase from a number of online stores which include, Sarah Chapman, SpaceNK UK, Feelunique.co.uk  however the best value at the minute is through QVC UK as for the month of March they have a Supersize Limited Edition 30 ml size available for £50 (15ml usually is £49) also available on two easy payments of £25, fantastic saving while stocks last.  I have already purchased the 30ml and now looking forward to it arriving and then going on to try further products from this range.  However as always if the Limited Edition size is not available check around to see where you can get the best offer i.e. discovery sets, discount off, free gifts with purchase, samples or hopefully if you are lucky maybe all of them.

Nails Inc Matchbox Nail & Lip Paint Set By Lottie Tomlinson

Another one of the products included in the  Look Incredible beauty box  (this time the February Deluxe Edition) was the Limited Edition Nails Inc Matchbox Nail & Lip Paints Set by ‘Lottie Tomlinson’ in ‘Mint’ RRP £15.  The set was created in collaboration with makeup Artist Lottie Tomlinson, Matchbox.

 

I love Nails Inc nail polishes, especially the gel effect formula so was happy to see this included in the box especially as was a Limited Edition set.

The set contains a Full Size Nails Inc Nail Polish (14ml) in Mint and a Lips Inc by Nails Inc Lip Paint in Babes – both beautiful dusky pink colours.

Set is described as:

‘As an exclusive Matchbox Collection for Nails Inc, twin long wearing Gel Effect nail polish with a perfect long wear matt lip for ultimate colour staying power’


I love this nail polish – it is the perfect dark dusky pink, I found one coat is enough for full coverage and after four days, using undercoat and topcoat, it is still as good as the first day of application no chips etc.    The brush makes it so easy to apply.    I love nude nail polishes as well but I think this is the perfect alternative.

The Lip Paint (4g) is also the perfect pink, so easy to apply with the applicator and love the long lasting matt effect finish, it is also the perfect  nude / pink colour  – however as it has a matt formula I would recommend making sure your lips are ‘prepared’ well  prior to applying, I use a gentle lip scrub at least once a week and lip balm a few minutes before applying to reduce the drying feeling on your lips.
