Look Incredible Deluxe Beauty Box – April 2017

Hi Again

I received my April 2017 Look Incredible Deluxe beauty box yesterday.  It is one of the more expensive beauty boxes at £35 a month but contains all full size products and subscriptions start at £18.99 per month for a ‘standard’ beauty box.

Products come beautifully packaged each month in an outer white magnetic box with a red / white dot ribbon and an information card which includes the RRP for all the products which I love.

This months box contained the following products:

Perricone MD Blue Plasma – 59ml – RRP £79 – had heard a lot about this product but had not got round to trying  – states helps rebalance skin’s hydration and plump the appearance of fine lines, designed to reveal luminous younger looking skin, so if you have youthful luminous skin already you may not need this;


Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner in Navy – RRP £12 – have used this before in the black version and thought it was good, it is long lasting and you able to do a fine line or a thicker one quite easily so I  am happy to see this included as when wearing jeans, any navy clothing, I like to put a navy over a black eyeliner at the corners but know some people just do not like navy eyeliners so maybe it would have been better to include the black version but as I said I am happy that the navy one was included;


Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matt Lip Paint – RRP £15  – love majority of Tarte products and this is a beautiful colour; states is a quick dry, full coverage, transfer proof liquid lipstick and initially, although I do not like majority of matt lipsticks, was still happy to see this included.  However although I can confirm very pigmented, does provide full coverage and seems to be transfer proof I personally found it just too drying on my lips, even with using lip balm prior to applying the lipstick;


Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Slimlight – RRP £24 – was delighted to see this in the box as love Becca powder highlighters.  This is a highlighting stick which is perfect for using when you want precise highlighting; at the inner corners of the eyes, on the cupids bow, underneath your eyebrows or anywhere you want to highlight – love this product and my favourite item in this months box; and

Spa Retreats Indulgence Smoothing Body Scrub – RRP £12 – Formulated with essential oils of damask rose and rose geranium so if you not a fan of rose fragrance in products (like myself) do not think this will be for you as very strongly scented.    However I can confirm it definitely has a lovely consistently and does leave skin very smooth, but unfortunately it is just too fragrant for me personally.

Although two of the products (worth £24) are not for me personally, box is still v good value as total value of products are £142.  This is what beauty boxes are all about discovering / trying new products and therefore it is a bonus if you love all the products so not too disappointed as v happy with the other three.  I definitely would recommend trying this box if you can, remember standard box is £18.99 a month, especially if you love receiving full size items, discovering high value brands/products.  Although I love this box I have cancelled for a while to enable me to use / try all the products  I have already.

My Little ‘Garden’ Box – April 2017

Hi Everyone

Happy Easter – hope your day and Easter break going well.

I received my April 2017 My Little Box late last week.   This month’s theme is ‘Garden’, perfect theme for this time of year – the Illustrated box, cards, packaging is all coordinated perfectly in line with this month’s theme as always (however no glossy My Little Box booklet this month either).  All came in a box again this month, loved the bag last month and hope we have more bags in the future, even a few times a year.   As advised before it is one of my favourite monthly subscription boxes and costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month (always check to see if any offers on first, if thinking of subscribing).

Included in this months box are:

‘My Little Box’  Patterned Bandana –Green / Navy/ White cotton patterned scarf – can be worn a number of ways, hair, neck, on your bag / belt – suggested styles are included on the front of the paper packaging as well;

 



‘My Little Box’ Magnetic Shopping List Notebook – a useful addition and as it is magnetic if you position it somewhere in sight, it will be handy when you need to write those lists, few useful recipes also included; 

 


‘My Little Box’ Fruit Shake Infuser Bottle – another useful addition – fashionable water bottle – intrigued as fruit section with perforations included within bottle to flavour your water, have not used it yet but interested to see how in works in practice;

 

Mixa Sensitive Skin Expert Restoring Body Lotion for V Dry Skin– 250 ml (full size) –  Never heard of this brand before and as I use body lotions / creams on a daily basis happy to see this included – has a creamy consistency and does leave skin hydrated and soft  however the fragrance slightly too much for me initially,  hard to say what the fragrance is – states is fast absorbing with no parabens; 

My Little Beauty Vitamin Shot Face Scrub– 75ml (full size)   – has an orange jelly consistency with micro beads – hardly any fragrance and you massage into moistened skin 1-2 times a week, concentrating on t zone and then rinse  – I found it did leave my skin feeling and looking fresher;


My Little Beauty Summer Lips SPF 15 – 3.5g (full size)   – another My Little Beauty product this month, leaves a coral / red sheen to your lips – sheer coverage – however good it has an SPF;


Extras included this month is a ‘Garden to Table’ – seasonable vegetable list and a sample packet of ‘Ape’ Crunchy Coconut Bites – three ‘bites’ in the packet – crispy coconut biscuit /snacks which are tasty if you like coconut – also states high in fibre and gluten free.

As always I would  recommend subscribing to this box as it is still one of my favourite subscription boxes.   However although this months box was still good value and included different products, it is probably one of my least favourite My Little Boxes to date – also a lot of skincare this month and two My Little Beauty items (personally think one My Little Beauty product is enough) – prefer when different brands are included,  hoping next month has more variety.

Lookfantastic Beauty Box – April 2017

Hi Everyone

I received my April 2017 Lookfantastic beauty box yesterday, I had cancelled for a while but then got a 3 month subscription and as this is my first box, will receive another two boxes (monthly subscription box which costs £15 per month (inc p&p) or from £11.25 for a 12 month subscription), you can also see the review of one of my earlier boxes here.


This month’s theme is ‘Natural Beauty’ and  Lookfantastic advise that ‘barefaced and beautiful is the way to go this April, letting your natural beauty shine through using a combination of good skincare and lightweight makeup to get your complexion glowing’.

Included is the usual product  / beauty information booklet and the following seven products (photos below)  and a copy of the April 2017 edition of the Elle Magazine:

Thisworks Perfect Legs Skin Miracle – 10ml (sample size)– £37.00 for 120ml;

States is ‘a tinted multi-vitamin serum to perfect and help cover skin imperfections’ – have heard about this product but have never tried and although states can be used all over the body, not sure if enough in this sample for this,  (Bit disappointed such a small size sample), however does not appear to take that much to cover the skin,  think enough for legs and arms – tested and does give a lovely sheen and has a refreshing spa fragrance which you expect with Thisworks products, not sure about ‘covering’ imperfections think it just ‘blurs’ them to make them less noticeable but this is my first thoughts so need to try properly to be sure;
 

Laura Geller Baked Balance N Brighten Foundation in Fair – 1.8g (deluxe travel size) – £26 for 9g;

 

Can be used alone or over your own foundation for a healthy glow – is a baked powder – I have tried it before and enjoyed using it, found it did give a healthy glow and has light / medium coverage as is buildable, was not drying on my skin either so happy to see this included in the box and perfect size for your handbag.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10 in 1 Complete Correction Leave in Hair Perfector – 25ml (deluxe travel size) – £26 for 74ml;

Love this product as already received the same size in another beauty box in the past and have just finished it, so perfect timing – you can apply to clean towel dried hair and style as desired or as a finisher on dry hair which I prefer it for and what I used it for mainly so that is why this size will last me a long time, has a lovely fragrance as well;

Omorovicza Cleansing Foam– 25ml– (travel size) – £44 for 150ml;

Looking forward to using as have tried other Omorovicza products and enjoyed using them and you can never have too many cleansers;
Madara Fine Line Minimising Cream (dry to very dry skin) – 20ml (deluxe travel size) – £35 for 50ml.

Have tried few products from this brand but never tried this one before;

Vitamasques Pomegranate Face Mask– (1 mask) – £3.99;

Never used this mask before, but love face masks and this one states is ‘moisturising, Firming and Lifting;

Merci Handy Hand Cleansing Gel in New Wave – 30ml– (full size) – £2.90;

This is a newest brand so that is why I think I have received this same item in a number of recent beauty boxes however all different fragrances to date – perfect handbag size and think this is the nicest fragrance I have received to date, fragrance does last as well.

Box of Style The Zoe Report – Spring 17

Hi All

Delighted as received my ‘Spring 2017’ Box of Style yesterday.   For the Spring 2017 box, Rachel Zoe and her team focused on highlighting female founded brands.

As advised in my earlier post here,  The  Zoe Report Box of Style is a US seasonal box (4 boxes per year) which costs $100 per box  and contains a variety of items (could be clothing, accessories, skincare, jewellery, makeup etc.).  The contents of each seasonal box  are different and contain around six items, one of which is a high value ‘hero’ item – could be item of clothing, jewellery, a bag etc.  International shipping is  available to the UK  for a flat rate of  $15 per box / shipment.  (full details on subscription(s) / shipping can be found at http://boxofstyle.thezoereport.com/)

 

I avoided the majority of the spoilers online, only had seen what one of the items, so was excited to see what was inside,  as you receive all the items individually wrapped in tissue paper within the black magnetic closure box it prolongs the excitement / surprise element.

Included within the Spring 2017 box were the following items & information booklet (see photos below):
The ‘Hero’ Item – A Tribe Alive Custom Carryall = $238 – This was an exclusive collaboration with Tribe Alive (founded by Carly Burson) to utilize her passion for fashion as  a platform to help alleviate poverty among women around the world – states this partnership employed over 150 Indian artisans in three cities – love the black and white detailed design (two of my favourite colours so a bonus) with tan detail, straps – zipped top closure with an interior zipped pocket and two open pouch pockets, perfect size for work, shopping, holidays, beach etc – only one negative, may just be as I have a strong sense of smell, but there is a v strong smell of straps, tan detail, smells like rubber to me – hoping this will disappear once outside for a while as if not would definitely put me off personally from using it, which would be a shame;

Adornmonde Ivo Earrings in choice of either gold tone or silver tone= $62– difficult choice but I chose the gold option – for pierced ears, the bars can be worn alone and then add the hoop as you wish, as I love hoop earrings I probably will wear both together most of the time – love these earrings and know I will wear them a lot as perfect for any outfit; 

 

Red and Gold Symbology Handcrafted Scarf = $50 –this is another exclusive collaboration and this time with Symbology who was founded by Marissa Heyl.  The colour of this scarf is beautiful and although a shorter scarf can still be styled so many ways including loosely round the neck, tie on your handbag strap for a splash of colour;


Tatcha Polished Gentle Rice Enzyme Powder- $65 –never heard of this brand – states was founded by Victoria Tsai and inspired by Geisha beauty rituals and their mantra that less is more – really intrigued and looking forward to trying this.  Comes in a beautiful presentation box as well.  When I try it and if I am impressed, will post a separate review;

BKR Glass & Silicone Water Bottle= $35 – this is a great idea, refillable, has a sleek neutral but fashionable design, perfect for work or carrying with you wherever you are to help remind you to keep hydrated .

Butter London Nail Polish in ‘Piece of Cake’= $18 – pale pink colour and although I have similar colours, I have not got this one so perfect addition to the collection;

My Little ‘#NOFILTER’ Box – March 2017

Hi Again

I had to show you the March 2017 My Little Box which I received last week.   As advised before it is one of my favourite monthly subscription boxes which costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month, however My Little Box even surpassed my high expectations this month.    This month’s theme is ‘#NOFILTER’ and I adore the way the Gorgeous Bag  (usually a box), cards, packaging is all coordinated perfectly in line with this month’s theme.

 

As always this month’s box contained  product information cards, picture card  but missing the usual glossy My Little Box booklet and drawstring pouch (think a pouch is not included as there is a Zipped Bag this month instead of the outer box) – love the addition of a bag this month as although the themed boxes are very pretty I have so many boxes now I really do not need any more.   Included in this months box are:  



Dusky Pink Toilet / Cosmetic Zipped Bag – this is a gorgeous bag and delighted we received this instead of a box this month – not sure if it is only for this month but would love the addition of a bag on a regular basis;



‘Selfie’ Foundation Brush –love, love, this brush, comes in a box and it has a beautiful dusky pink handle with rose gold tone detail and the brush is so soft but also firm as well – it is good for foundation but it really is perfect for so much more i.e. applying bronzer, blusher, loose powders as well – so cute as well;



Rose Gold tone Smartphone ring – never heard much about these before, it is for ‘sticking’ onto the back of your phone, states can also be used as a mini tri-pod for taking portrait / landscape photos- always keep my smart phone in a full protective case but will definitely get round to trying it – once again love the colour of it:

Laura Mercier Blemish-less Foundation Primer- 15ml (travel size)– have used Laura Mercier primers before and they do a good job but as this a new version have not tried it yet so looking forward to trying;


Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Pressed Powder– 1g (travel size) – states blemishes are softened fine lines blurred and a texture so fine you almost forget you’re wearing any makeup up all – tried this before and it does help to keep your skin matte/ makeup  last longer and you really do not feel it on your skin – however not sure about blurring fine lines but still a good product and this a handy size for your makeup bag; 

 


My Little Beauty ‘Vernis Toute Nude’ Nail Polish– 10ml (full size)   – Beautiful neutral colour – brush perfect size,  leaves a lovely shine to your nails,  packaging also matches this month’s theme perfectly as well.


Extra included this month is a ‘Beauty Notes’ notebook  – love this addition, perfect size for my handbag.

Lorac Powder Stain/Blush- ‘Coral Crush’

Hi All

Hope you are all having a good weekend – sorry I have been so quiet recently.  However from this weekend forward will be on back on track with regular posts.

As you know I absolutely love beauty boxes and was delighted to discover this product in a recent Look Incredible beauty box (although a more expensive monthly subscription I  would recommend trying this box  if you like to receive full size / high value beauty items).


I have read a lot of reviews on the Lorac Eyeshadow palettes but had never heard anything about their Lorac Cheek Blushes /Stains so was delighted it was included in the box.

I received the colour ‘Coral Crush’ – which is a beautiful pinky/peachy colour with a gold glimmer.  The packaging is sturdy but sleek (hard black plastic with the name embossed on the front).  I was delighted when I swatched it as it reminded me of one of my favourite blushes – the Nars blush in ‘Orgasm’.

Described as:

A Pro Powder Cheek Stain which gives an instant flush of long lasting colour – states: is a fragrance and paraben free 12 hour long wear powder blush which stains your cheeks with one swipe of healthy radiant colour

Oh my goodness I absolutely adore this blush, it has no fragrance, so easy to apply and it gives a healthy natural long lasting radiant flush of colour to your cheeks – although there is a slight shimmer in it I find when you apply it is gives more a slight gold sheen to your cheeks which I personally love and seems perfect for my light skin tone (however also think it would be perfect for medium / darker skin tones as colour is  buildable).    This blush / stain is definitely more pigmented than the Nars blush in Orgasm and although the Nars blush is one of my favourite blushes I now prefer the Lorac one even more, never thought I would find one to compare.  They are both beautiful blushes and although I prefer the Nars compact with the build in mirror  I personally find the Lorac blush is even more long lasting / pigmented.

I would absolutely recommend trying this blush for yourself – I  have already purchased, although will take a while to finish this one.

There are not many online stores in UK which are stocking it but it is still available to purchase on sale on the Look Incredible.co.uk site 3.5g for £14.99 (was £21), while stocks last, (the Nars Blush is normally £23 for 4.8g).

My Little Box – ‘Christmas’ – Dec 2016

Delighted as received my December My Little Box today – one of my favourite monthly subscription boxes which costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month.    This month’s theme is ‘Christmas’ simple and perfect for this time of year and I adore the way the box, booklets, packaging is all coordinated perfectly in line with this month’s theme.  As I have only received the box today have not got a chance to try any of the items properly but wanted to let you see what I received as soon as possible.

 

As always this month’s box contained the usual high quality glossy ‘My Little World’ booklet,  additional product information cards, picture card the ‘My  Little Box’ cloth drawstring bag, (which contains the three to four beauty / skincare products usually three – one of which is a My Little Box item), two accessory items and a beautiful card.  An extra treat this month is the red and white rock stick which was wrapped beautifully on the front of the box so first impressions v good.  Included in this months box are:  


Lou Yetu Bijoux Espiegles Cuff Bangle – (no value given) –a beautiful goldtone open cuff with a green trim in the middle – perfect size and adjustable – came in a drawstring bag – although not overly excited by this cuff still happy included in box and will wear it; 


Delices De Noel Travel Candle in Gingerbread  (no value given) –Comes in a beautiful presentation box with a lid – smells exactly of Gingerbread so perfect addition for this months box;

 

Courreges Hyperbole Eau de Parfum–travel size spray– 5 ml – full size 50 ml -72 Euro – was not sure when I first sprayed it as bit strong at first but then settles so now will definitely try it to see if it is for me  – it is a sweet fragrance with a slight spice undertone and also matches the theme perfectly this month.



Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula FlipBalm in Juicy Watermelon– Full Size – £4.99 – have not opened as was lucky and had received this product for free earlier in the month – it is handy product for your bag and has a flip top opening / closure – leaves lips v hydrated and although the smell of the watermelon is refreshing I find it just too much when I apply to my lips but would still recommend trying as long as you are not put off with strong smells/tastes;

 


My Little Beauty ‘Christmas Melody Smoky Eyes Duo– full size – again no value given (prefer when all the value of items are included on the information cards)  – Two autumnal colours – shades are Shimmery Taupe and Shade – have a good colour pay out, the taupe shade is buildable but has a beautiful subtle sheen and perfect for this time of the year and should be a good duo for a smoky eye look and packaging also matches this month’s theme perfectly as well.


Two extras were included this month a beautiful tin of Kusmi Tea 25g (200g is £24.80) and a small sample jar of Tiptree Salted Caramel Spread – 210g – £2.49 (210g is £2.49)

Update on missing third item from my November 2016 – not sure what should have been included  – however was delighted as received a Sephora Lip gloss as the  replacement item prior to the end of November – was v happy with replacement as had never tried Sephora lip glosses before, not overly sticky and gives a natural sheen to the lips.

I would  definitely recommend subscribing to this box because as always it is still one of my favourite subscription boxes.  I love the way the items this month fit perfectly with this time of year and all matched perfectly with the theme this month as well  – it is a ‘cosy comforting’ box this month and although some people might not find the contents v exciting, and I agree they might not be, however  I am happy with them and will use them all.
