My Little ‘Rouje’ Box – September 2017

Hi Everyone

Monday again – hope you all had a great weekend but it just goes past too quickly.

I received the September 2017 My Little Box on Saturday, bit later this month.   The theme for this month’s box is  La Vie En Rouje’   – As always the box, cards, print, packaging coordinated perfectly in line with the theme but missing the lovely ‘quote’ sticker inside this month’s box again.     The box costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month (but as said before always check to see if any offers on first, if thinking of subscribing).

Although a slightly ‘plainer’ design this month still love it, v ‘chic’ and the red / cream theme v in fashion at the moment as well.  There also is a bigger booklet / type magazine included this month which I like.

 Included in this months box are:

A ‘My Little Box’ Rouje T-Shirt –  this is a fine white cotton t-shirt with Les filles en Rouje embossed on front – I think is a S/M t-shirt and although it does fit me will not be suitable for everyone –  I am happy to see this included as I cannot have enough white t-shirts perfect with jeans, skirts, trousers tucked in or worn out;

No ‘My Little Box’ drawstring pouch again this month instead the following three ‘beauty’ items came in a red and cream ‘My Little Box – Bons baisers de Jeanne’ patterned paper bag:

My Little Beauty Rouge Lipstick (FULL SIZE)  love the design on the packaging and it is a lovely red  lipstick with blue undertone.  Does feel nice on the lips, lovely colour, although does stain slightly but I find that with most red lipsticks anyway – perfect for this time of year and in line with this months theme;

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil for Face, Body and Hair (Sample Size 10ml) although do like this multi task product (though prefer for hair & body ) think I may have received it in a previous box as well – although still handy size for travelling;

Nuxe Prodigieux Precious Scented Shower Oil (Sample Size 30ml) – Another Nuxe product, one I have tried before and although I do like it not my favourite shower oil but nice for when you have that special night out as has a shimmer as well so perfect to use in combination with the oil above.

As always do like the theme this month and  although still v good value  slightly disappointed again this month with the contents , definitely feel there is something missing compared to the majority of My Little Boxes I have had previously (had similar thoughts last month as well).  As although I do love this months t-shirt and like the My Little Box Lipstick  bit disappointed with the beauty items this month as although it is nice to have coordinating products think it would have been better to include another brand or an additional makeup item.  Also prefer a drawstring bag as I find them so handy for re-using, taking on holidays, carrying items in my handbag, so hoping more will be included in future boxes.   I also  think another ‘accessory’ item would have helped this box as well.  Not my favourite box to date but then my expectations are high from past boxes.

Any queries / comments please let me know, also if you received this months box would love to know what you thought of it?

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.  I will have more posts up later in the week.

Hope you have a great week.

Thank you & take care.

Best Wishes Liz x

Love Me Beauty – September 2017 Review

Hi Everyone

I received my September Love Me Beauty ‘bag’ last week – it is another monthly beauty subscription service which I am currently subscribed to.   Love Me Beauty is a monthly UK beauty subscription service which costs £10.00 (+ £3.95 p&p) per month and there are  also 3 & 6 monthly subscription options available as well.  Each month you’re a member, you’ll get 60 credits to spend on a selection of products in their on-line ‘shop’ (sample, deluxe sample and sometimes full size items available at different ‘credit’ amounts) – you can also buy additional credits each month if you want.   New products are launched every 2nd of the month but if there are products still available from the previous month they also may be included within the product selection (they could be included for a number of months).  You can find out more details via link here.

img_5929

This month I had more credits to spend as a friend had v kindly signed up using my link  which meant I got an additional 60 credits and my friend got 30 extra creditsTherefore I was able to get the following products; though still did not spend all my credits this month so can carry them over to October.

PMD Kiss Lip Plumping System  – 60 Credits (FULL SIZE RRP £125 (however available on-line both cheaper and more expensive) The following was included: – PMD Kiss Device, Smart Lip plumping Serum;   2 Changeable Kissers (Small & Large);  USB Charging Cord &  1-Year Warranty.   Could not resist selecting this product as you are really getting it for only £10 plus postage although I really got it for free with my friends referral credits.  I also thought this was the perfect way to try this product as was intrigued but bit apprehensive as well, although would not have bought at RRP price or reduced price.  I intend to do a full review post once I get a chance to try properly.  States: Kiss uses patent pending pulsating vacuum technology to safely plump the look of lips and serum work with Kiss to create dramatic results including increased loom of lip volume; also advises visibly plumps in minutes and results last hours:  (unfortunately these are all gone now);

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you have received this month’s bag / selection would love to know what you chose / thought.

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you – enjoy the rest of the week and take care.

Review: Roccabox September 2017

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a good weekend.

I received  my September Roccabox beauty box last week and as I have now got a chance to try all the products for a short space of time wanted to let you know my initial thoughts on the box/contents.

Roccabox is a monthly subscription beauty box which costs £10 a month (plus £3.95 p&p).   Each month you’ll receive a box of beauty treats hand-picked by one of the industry’s best-loved personalities / influencer, along with their top beauty hints and tips – for more details please see link here.  This month Roccabox have not teamed up with individual ‘influencer’ but have taken the advice of fashion and beauty editors – a ‘handful of true Fashion Week veterans’ and they state box contains products that are ‘real Fashion Week Essentials’.

Products come packaged  in an outer white box with rose gold lettering and an information leaflet is also included (photo below).

img_5847

This month’s box contained the following five items:

img_5848

Scentered De-Stress Therapy Balm (Relax Unwind & Reset) Mini 1.5g Travel Size £5.  Love theses balm already and had not realised they were now doing mini sizes as well now, as perfect  for travelling as you do not need much product.  I was intending to do a post on this range anyway and still will, as I think they are so good.  They are 100% natural and there are a number of different therapy balms – this one is to de-stress and you just apply to pulse points and inhale and I really do think these balms help.   Although I do like all the balms, my favourite is the ‘Sleep Well’ one.   Happy to see this in the box.  20% off purchases at www.scentered.me when you use the code SCENTROCCA20;

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (Sample Pack of 5 pads)RRP £12.95 for 60 pads – The pads are soaked in glycolic acid and can be used on face, neck and decollete once or twice daily.  I have used these before and definitely think they do help to tone, smooth the skin and also give a boost to the skin and although this is a small sample still handy for travelling.  30% off when you buy 2 items or more using the code LFW1730 @ www.nipandfab.com;

Blank Canvas Quick Brush  (Full Size £14.05) – Favourite product in the box.  V impressed with this brush already, although it is quite chunky, it is compact & bristles feel soft but firm enough for applying foundation & bronzer and even blush.  Also love the hot pink colour so I am v happy to see this included  – will be checking out more brushes from this brand

Patisserie de Bain Shower Crème Crème Patissiere (175ml)FULL SIZE states RRP £2.99 (available in a set- not many sites seem to have this fragrance available individually at the moment).  –  It has a creamy consistency and does smell of vanilla, sweet.  Handy product to have and does leave skin fragrant but maybe slightly too sweet-smelling for some.   Reasonably priced and although would maybe prefer another of the fragrances in this range, will still finish this tube;

Peony Cosmetics Shadow Trio in Gilded (RRP £14 for Full Size – think we got a mini size as hoping not £14 for this size!) – although outer packaging v pretty, product packaging does not feel or look great,  although the shadows themselves are more pigmented than expected when you swatch – not a fan of the gold glitter does not feel or look great but the creamy gold and the dark brown do look well on and did last longer than expected when I applied over eye primer.  Will try both for a longer period of time to see how well they perform but product packaging alone would personally put me off purchasing;

Overall I am happy with the contents of this months box, not my favourite box but still a good selection of products and brands. My favourite two products are the Blank Canvas brush and the Scentered De-Stress balm.  Wonder if there will be an individual ‘influencer’ next month again,  and if so who will it be?

Would love to know if you are already subscribed to this box, what you thought of this months box?

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot and be v much appreciated.

Hope you all have a great week as always.

Thank you – take care.

YOU Beauty Box – Sept 2017 Edit (The Last One)

Hi again

img_2166

I received my September 2017 YOU beauty box (YBB) on Saturday but only getting round to opening it now  – I  was on the Gold Plan (£10.95 a month – chose of 4 items).  However sadly we have been advised that after four years the ‘September Edit’ will be the last YBB shortlist  / box.   YBB has now joined forces with their sister site Latest In Beauty (LIB) but to thank subscribers for their loyalty they are offering a Full Size Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment (worth over £50) when they subscribe to the joint LIB/YBB monthly Build Your Own Beauty Box and enter code YBB at the checkout – for more details please see photo below.

However onto what I selected / received in YBB September’s box:

Seahorse Plankton 5 Minute Miracle Mask (60ml) (FULL SIZE) RRP £14.99

States: delivers some serious plumping and firming.  Firm lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, and skin is stimulated and rejuvenated with a beautiful glow.  Has a lovely creamy consistency and only has a slight fragrance not overpowering which I always prefer with face masks.  Looking forward to trying as love using masks;

Max Factor X False Lash Epic  (13.5ml) (FULL SIZE) RRP £11.99

Nice gold packaging but have so many mascaras to use up have not opened this one yet but description sounds v good – tip is supposed ‘to capture and magnify every detail of every lash for an epic lash fan.  No lash is left unseen’.

This a creamy polish although the granules are quite scratchy on the skin.   Unfortunately this product is definitely not for me as I really dislike the fragrance it smells to me like being at the dentist – smells of the products used for making a ‘mould’ for your crowns or fillings – really off-putting for me and I also feel the granules are just too coarse as well.

Love to know what you thought of this month’s box and YBB’s decision to join their sister site LIB.  Are you considering subscribing to the LIB Build Your Own Box?

Also if you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.

Thank you and take care.

There is one product in the selection I love already the Benefit – gimme brow volumizing eyebrow gel in Light but not completely sure at this stage what my other three will be – but thinking of the This Works® – sleep plus+ hair elixir, Max Factor – False Lash Epic Mascara and Dr Organic – Moroccan Glow Body Polish – but this could change.  As always not enough makeup items included in selection for me personally but still v good value as usual.

As a YOU Beauty box  member you are entitled to choose between two to four samples from the YOU Beauty Box shortlist each month, depending on which price plan you are on – Gold Plan (four samples).

My Little ‘Wild Summer’ Box – Aug 2017

Hi Everyone

I received my August 2017 My Little Box yesterday – v soon after my July box, as it was late, so delighted to have the August one on time / early.   The theme for this month’s box is  ‘Wild Summer’  As always the Illustrated box, cards, print, packaging coordinated perfectly in line with the theme.     The box costs £14.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month (but as said before always check to see if any offers on first, if thinking of subscribing).

Very colourful box design this month and like it  – a festival holiday vibe.

Included in this months box are:

 A ‘My Little Box’ Gem Catcher –  gold tone triangle for hanging your jewellery on – it is cute and think would be v useful for custom jewellery – string attached for hanging  it up;

‘My Little Box’ The Nana Benz Necklace love that this was included – twisted cord detail at front and dark green plain tight intertwined detail at sides with gold tone magnetic/catch closure – could be worn anytime and also think this has a festival vibe.  Would be beautiful with a plain top or dress;

No ‘My Little Box’ drawstring pouch this month instead the following three ‘beauty’ items came in a blue and white ‘My Little Box’ patterned paper bag:

My Little Beauty Blush Me Tender Cream Blush (FULL SIZE)  states is ‘a universally flattering shade that brings subtle warmth to every skin tone’  I agree think this will be good colour for most skin tones as colour is buildable as well – it is a dusky pink / coral colour and although creamy applies with a powder type finish.  I wore it yesterday and have it on today and it just gives a natural hint of colour, also lasted really well yesterday.  Think I will use this on a regular basis, may also be suitable to dab on the lips as has a stain type finish as well – very pleased with this product;

img_5178

img_5179

img_5181

Essie Nail Lacquer in 324 (Beautiful Dark Cerise Pink Shade) FULL SIZEpleased to see a full size nail polish included and v happy that I do not have a shade like this is my collection.

Bare Minerals Skinsorials (deluxe sample size 7.5ml)  – I already have this product and really enjoy using it (see my earlier review here).   This is a good size sample, enough to try the product properly.  This was the same sample size I got  free to try in-store previously from a Bare Minerals counter when this product was being launched.  As I enjoy using this product I am happy to see it included, perfect size to take with me on my holidays.  A 20% discount code (SERUM20) also included if you then decide to purchase it  – see below;

img_5183

img_5191

img_5190

A printed double sided fold out card with a number of different sayings/quotes was also included (photo below) – think may fold out into something but have not managed it yet – going to try again tonight as do not want to tear it.

Love the theme and design of this month’s box / items and although was slightly disappointed when felt and opened the box as seemed lighter / emptier than usual I really like all the items this month, better for me than last month’s box.  Still miss the information booklet and prefer to have a drawstring bag but love the beauty products this month and will use all of them.  I still think another ‘accessory’ item may have completed this box but love the necklace so I am happy with all.   Definitely one of the better boxes for me based on the contents and hopefully will enjoy next months products the same or even better.

As always would  recommend checking out / subscribing to this box if you can as it still one of the beauty boxes I am most excited to receive because of the addition of different accessories each month.

Any queries / comments please let me know, also if you received this months box would love to know what you thought of it?

If you are not already a follower would love you to follow my blog too – would mean a lot.  I will have more posts up v soon.

Thank you – take care.

Birchbox UK – Aug 2017-First Impressions

Hi Everyone

I think this is  going to be the week to receive the majority of my beauty boxes and it started with  my August Birchbox arriving today.  This means I have not got a chance yet to try the products properly  but wanted to give you my first impressions on each product and my thoughts on this month’s box.   This month’s theme is ‘Mermaid Vibes – love the design of the box again this month.

Birchbox is a monthly subscription box which costs £12.95 (inclusive of p&p) per month and 3, 6 & 12 monthly subscriptions are also available.  Usually five personalised beauty treats are included each month.  You can see what I received in last months via link here.

img_5169

This month every subscriber either received a Spectrum Collections A05 Brush in either Glam Clam or Bomb Shell and a LOC One and Done Shadow Stick in ‘Out of your Shell’ or ‘Rock Steady’  – both FULL size items.   A product  / beauty information booklet and the following three products were also included in my box:

Spectrum Collections A05 Brush in Bomb Shell – FULL SIZE’ RRP Approx. £7 (sets from £59 we already knew a spectrum brush was to be included as received a spoiler last month and then we received an e-mail to make our colour choice.     I chose the pink and rose gold coloured brush as already have brushes in this colour scheme – only slight negative is there is a scrape on the rose gold stem, know it will probably get scraped with use but still slightly disappointed received it with a scrape on it.  As I have said before love the quality, colour scheme of spectrum brushes and they are so reasonably priced as well which is a bonus.   It has soft tapered bristles so should be good for applying finishing powders, highlighters, blush and blending  as prefer a firmer brush to contour;

img_5164

Happy with this month’s box, definitely a better box for me this month.  Will use all the products and not that disappointed only one makeup item included as a great range of products this month and love the inclusion of another Spectrum brush.

 *SPOILER* September Sneak Peek – states that everyone will receive a ‘Full Size Mannakadar 3 in 1 Product (blush, highlighter and eye shadow in one) in their September Birchbox (photo below)

If you are thinking of  subscribing to Birchbox UK – you can get £5 off your first box -(box is normally £10 +£2.95 shipping – you will get for £5 +£2.95 shipping) by clicking  link here and then copy and paste code at checkout to get your discount.    You can also get a free full-size Nails Inc. Polish plus a make up bag when you order your August Birchbox (*photo below),  just add the code TAKE2 at checkout to get free gift.

Look forward to any comments you may have – if you have received this month’s box would love to know what you thought.
