Review: Zohara Shoulder/ Crossbody Bag

Hi Everyone

Hope your weekend is going well.

As you know as well as loving beauty, another one of my passions is fashion which includes all accessories; all types of handbags which I adore (maybe too much lol).  I personally think the right bag finishes an outfit or different handbags gives you different options with the same outfit.   I own a number of bags from different price ranges but when I go to reach for the same bag regularly which also suit so many outfits I know I am going to get value for money for my purchase.   Recently a few of my bags have got more ‘outings’ than others as everything about them has been perfect for the outfits I was wearing; colour, shape, practical as well, held majority of what I wanted to carry.

One such bag which I purchased at the beginning of the year in the sale was from the Zohara range.

Zohara is a Northern Ireland company specialising in Handbags, Purses/Wallets, some jewellery pieces etc, a local company for me which is perfect as makes it even more special when you love their products.  Their bags and purses I would say are at a mid price range full price.

A little bit about the brand:

The Zohara brand which launched in 2016, was born from a struggle for them to find a quality Real Leather handbag at an affordable price.  They wanted to create collections that featured styles to suit the day to day lives of all types of people – the student, the business woman, the mum and everyone inbetween, and for all sorts of occasions – work days, overnight trips, day trips and everyday life. With bag designs and materials selected, their colour palette was inspired by their location on the North Coast of Northern Ireland – rich blues and navy of the breath-taking Atlantic Ocean, warm stony tans and greys, sky pinks, forest greens – aren’t  we so lucky they have this fantastic inspiration on the doorstep.  Zohara have different collections inspired by different parts of Northern Ireland.

This was my first purchase from the range, as had not seen any of the bags in person as like to feel a bag before I purchase it, is this only me? However could not resist when I seen the bag below from their Notting Hill range on their online site at the beinning of this year, as was reduced to half price £74.50 as loved the colour and the style also appealed to me.

I am so glad I did as loved it as soon as I opened the box, colour was even better than expected a beautiful Ochre yellow colour and the quality of the pebbled leather, so soft but still durable, features, tabs, interior was suberb; as good if not better than a lot of the ‘designer’ bags which in most cases you are paying at least twice the full price for, and that is only usually for a v small bag as well, bags of this size could be anything from 3 to x times more expensive.    Although I do have to admit I still do love a number of designer bags especially if you can get them in the sale, designer outlet, lovely treat for that extra special occasion.

So impressed with attention to detail gold hardware is beautiful, it has also kept its colour and love the way Zohara is embossed on the outside, at the front and on the zipper tab on the back exterior pocket.  As there is a detachable adjustable strap can be worn cross body, on the shoulder and also as a clutch.  Snap front closure may take a little bit longer to get used too but does close the bag securely to give it a streamlined look.  There is an interior zipped pocket and two open pockets and fully lined throughout, quality silk feel material as well.  The tassle comes separate so bag can be worn with or without it and you can also mix and match with other bags as different ranges come with different coloured tassles.  I am hoping Zohara is going to start selling their tassles separately as well soon as love having the option to swap between bags, could also just add that finishing touch to an outfit with a different colour.  One of their representatives I have been talking to recently advised this is something they are considering so fingers crossed.

I have used this bag so much, perfect for all occasions; work, events, days & nights out and it still looks as good as the first day I got it or maybe better as when you first receive it boxed the leather may smell a little bit stronger than you would expect but once you use the bag this smell disappears.  As with all light bags with wear it might become slightly dirty rubbing against clothes, your hands even when out shopping however with this particular bag as you can see below if this happens all you need to do it rub gently with a v slightly damp cloth using just water and any slight marks comes straight off, good as new.  However as with all bags I protect and store it away in its dustbag when not in use.

I definitely recommend checking out the Zohara range if you havent already as think you will be so impressed, maybe a bit more expensive than you are thinking of spending but I personally think worth every pound as quality is so good especially if you purchase when an offer is on, like myself.  I  am trying to be good when it comes to purchasing bags at the moment but as Zohara now have 25% off their Rathlin collection online, via link here and the beautiful Bellamiaboutiqueuk stores (staff so friendly and helpful, even if a bag is not for you call in if you can as so many beautiful brands / items)  based in Ballymoney, Coleraine, Derry / Londonderry and  / online via link here also have items from the  Zohara range reduced, might not be able to resist as would love an everyday black or navy shoulder bag.    I am also excited to see the new Autumn / Winter 18 range  in person as seen some photos of the collection at the recent AW18 fashion shows and all the bags looked stunning.

I hope you enjoyed this post – have you heard of the Zohara brand, or ever purchased anything from the range and if so have you been as impressed as me?

Thank you, take care – enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Best Wishes Liz x
